I spent most of the primary season warning folks that Sharron Angle was a kook who would blow an easy race against an unpopular incumbent. Reid wanted to run against Angle given her two prior losses. She looked like a promising candidate for Congress back in 2006, but exposed herself as unhinged when she narrowly lost the nomination, demanding a do-over (and throwing around groundless accusations of voter fraud). Her antics almost cost the GOP a seat that was the most heavily GOP one in the state.

She next parlayed her antics in trying to take out the GOP State Senate leader, falling short again (and that blew up spectacularly in her face and caused the state GOP leaders to tell her to take a long walk off a short pier). Angle may have given good speeches to the Tea Party, but their naivete in utterly ignoring her behavior and prior antics that made everything all about her.

I reminded folks that any credible Republican candidate OTHER than Angle would’ve taken out Reid. But, no, Reid laughed all the way to Election Day getting the nominee HE wanted. He couldn’t have orchestrated it better.
