Senior editor of Saudi online paper Arab News, Siraj Wahab, has just tweeted that Egyptian ships forced Iranian retreat from Bab Al-Mandab strait near the Port of Aden.
A statement issued by the Egyptian Foreign Ministry stated that Egypt is coordinating with Saudi Arabia, together with the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) for the participation of its Air Force, Navy, and ground forces, should it prove necessary.
However, it should be noted that Iran threatened Saudi Arabia today (Thursday), announcing that its foray into Yemen would end up costing it dearly.

I didn’t think Egypt was our friend since they went after obammy’s buddies the mooselimb brotherhood.
Thank you.
I see Iran and Russia are calling for this to stop. Will Russia fight Egypt and SA?
In the meantime Barry won't come out and play Cowboys and Muslims.
His presidential pennant:
it’s time for the good folks in our military to remove the bad folks that think they run our government and control our country. WW3 is now starting , in fits & starts. America cannot afford to wait , awaiting the clueless lack of leadership that now calls our shots. They have proven themselves complete failures . They need to be removed and the fight joined in an intelligent and extremely forceful manner. Its time . America can’t wait . If we do we are done for .
“I see Iran and Russia are calling for this to stop. Will Russia fight Egypt and SA?”
I was considering this earlier...
The Russians have just GOT to be laughing their a$$es off about this.
They can claim neutrality and promote “Peace”, while they prod and supply Iran from safe and secure lines.
If they push the already nutso Iranian Mullahs enough to respond militarily, perhaps by sinking a tanker, or even closing the Straits of Hormuz, THE PRICE OF OIL WILL SKY-ROCKET, leaving Russia as one of the only “Secure” major suppliers.
The sanctions will mean absolutely nothing, as Europe starts begging on their knees for Russian Gas and Gasoline, to replace supplies from the Gulf that are cut off.
I can’t see a downside from the Russians playing spoiler here.
This may well be the final spark that sets the region fully afire. To this point everything has been piecemeal, ISIS in semi separate conflicts in Nigeria, Libya, Syria together with Iraq. Iran has entered the fray in Iraq and Yemen. Now Egypt and Saudi Arabia have committed to the war. The bad part is the various conflict are no longer separable. Israel will soon be forced in before long. Jordan is already involved and Lebanon is an Iranian client.
Thanks. I should’ve known not to trust the source to be complete.
This is heating up fast. Our dictator is going to have to choose sides fast. I’m betting he’ll choose Iran.
We better close down Gitmo ASAP. /sarc
This is my last election, Obama interjects. After my election, I have more flexibility.
I’ve been to Djibouti, just across the water from Yemen and for the life of me, I can’t fathom the reason for anyone wanting that horrid area for any purpose.
