Is that 630 total hours of flight time? Euro flight training seems skimpy. I doubt a 28 year old would be flying an airbus of a US airline.
He was co-pilot I believe. Not main pilot.
Well, regardless of his flight hours, it wasn’t incompetence apparently. I doubt it was a health issue also as he was young (28) and you’d expect to hear something (gasping, moaning, etc).
We may never know this guy’s problem. Obviously, deranged and suicidal. Maybe he wanted his 15 minutes of fame? Every now and then someone just goes batsh!t crazy....it happens.
No he would not. He would be flying Dash 8s.

They do. It is not uncommon. In fact, airlines prefer to get pilots as young as possible for cost reasons and because they haven’t picked up bad habits they have to unlearn from someplace else.

It Russia a captain in his or her earlier 20s is quite common. A 28 y.o. would make a veteran airman, who probably also spent some time in AF before moving to airline for longer $.
It might be true for Germany as well.
