Did Ted Cruz actually shut down the government? I don’t remember that to be the case.

No, Ted Cruz did NOT shut down the government.

Ted Cruz and his fellow Republicans were burning the midnight oil trying to avert a shutdown. Harry Reid, Obama and the rest of the democrats were no shows.

Even when it supposedly “shutdown,” 83% of the government remained open. And then Obama responded by putting up his stupid “barrycades” at the World War II Memorial, on a state highway shoulder near Mount Rushmore, etc. It was vindictive and pathetic on Obama’s part.

I wish it took just one senator to shut down the government. We’d be in a lot less trouble.

Actually, it was the President who shut it down, by refusing to compromise.

But .. since we’re not allowed to make him responsible for anything, of course it has to be the repubs.

No, the government shut down because Obama, Harry Reid, and Boehner tried to rahm through a budget that never had a chance in the House. Cruz was just a single vote in the minority Senate.
