Counting votes doesn’t apply to Cruz because so many voters abstain out of sheer disgust.
There are millions of such people, and they’ve been waiting for someone like Cruz so they can vote in good conscience again. That’s why he just needs to stick to his guns.
If he does, the votes will come - by the millions.
I just said something very similar on another thread. I think you’re right. Ted Cruz could draw from the millions who have given up voting because the parties are corrupt and obviously colluding against the citizens.
That’s true. People will be voting for a candidate and not against one.
Go Cruz.
This is exactly the same situation that gave Perot almost 20 million votes in 1992.
I'm not saying that Perot and Cruz are equivalent in any real sense, but Cruz is tapping into the same undercurrent of anger and disgust that Perot did, and that feeling is far greater today than it was in 1992.
The popular vote in 1992 was 12 million higher than in 1988, and 8 million higher than in 1996. Much of that surge in 1992 was due to disaffected non-voters who were inspired to get back into the game.
The same thing will happen in 2016.
