The GOPe have me confused with someone who gives a sh!t what they think!
I wasn’t aware that a Junior Senator from the Minority Party in the Senate had the Power to Shut Down the entire United States Government.
I was sure it took a Mulatto Marxist POTUS to pull that off.
No, Ted Cruz did NOT shut down the government.
Ted Cruz and his fellow Republicans were burning the midnight oil trying to avert a shutdown. Harry Reid, Obama and the rest of the democrats were no shows.
Even when it supposedly “shutdown,” 83% of the government remained open. And then Obama responded by putting up his stupid “barrycades” at the World War II Memorial, on a state highway shoulder near Mount Rushmore, etc. It was vindictive and pathetic on Obama’s part.
It was rats who shut the government down and it has always been them
Brit Hume. Mr. Congeniality.
AMNESTY would have passed in Jan, 2014, except for Cruz.
Boener had, yet another, ‘great plan’. This time he would require the president to certify that our border was secure before anyone could be on a path to citizenship, or something like that. Cruz met with House Republicans, and that was the end of it. Then Cantor held things up until he could swat Dave Brat out of the way in his Primary, in June. Cantor didn’t do so well either.
That’s true. People will be voting for a candidate and not against one.
Go Cruz.
I proudly help throw that weasel from office. It was a genuine David and Goliath battle. Cantor blanketed the airwaves and I’ve never seen so much mass mailing. All that money did not help him.
I was smiling for a week......
I heard Dennis Miller on O’Reilly just say something like he wants to find the scumbag who started the government back up.
I consider that night the happiest night of my life, and I’ve had some happy nights before. I was blown away.
Do people really think a single backbencher of the minority party shut down the government?
People are so gullible.
I wish it took just one senator to shut down the government. We’d be in a lot less trouble.
I’m sure we can find a patriot the same age as that castrated wimp Brit Hume who will drag Hume into the street and stomp his little feminist peanuts into the concrete.
Actually, it was the President who shut it down, by refusing to compromise.
But .. since we’re not allowed to make him responsible for anything, of course it has to be the repubs.
This is exactly the same situation that gave Perot almost 20 million votes in 1992.
I'm not saying that Perot and Cruz are equivalent in any real sense, but Cruz is tapping into the same undercurrent of anger and disgust that Perot did, and that feeling is far greater today than it was in 1992.
The popular vote in 1992 was 12 million higher than in 1988, and 8 million higher than in 1996. Much of that surge in 1992 was due to disaffected non-voters who were inspired to get back into the game.
The same thing will happen in 2016.
“There’s a significant number of Republicans out there who believe — and I’m not making this up — that the government shutdown did not hurt the Republican Party, but actually helped it win the majority. Now, obviously I don’t think that’s so, but those are the people that will be Ted Cruz’s people ‘til the end.”
Facts are irrelevant to the elitists. Thanks again for another reminder as to why I ditched Fox News in November 2012 and haven’t looked back since!
Brit, Good luck with your Bushie run. You won’t have folks like me helping you.
Go get screwed in the nose, for a long time.
The pro-abort, pro-queer Goldberg was on Hannity last night slamming Cruz left and right, saying nominate Cruz and elect Hillary Clinton. The SOB also slammed Sara Palin when she running with McCain. Goldberg despises conservatives, as does loudmouth O’Reilly.
No, the government shut down because Obama, Harry Reid, and Boehner tried to rahm through a budget that never had a chance in the House. Cruz was just a single vote in the minority Senate.
O’Reilly thinks he’s being slick by saying things like “I think you’re being a little too hard on Cruz” to his hired hit men like Goldberg, and then letting them go on with their smearing.
