“Be not intimidated, nor suffer yourselves to be wheedled out of your liberties by any pretense of politeness, delicacy, or decency. These, as they are often used, are but three different names for hypocrisy, chicanery, and cowardice.”
Samuel Adams

Perhaps you should heed your own favorite quotes.

I know some on FR don’t think seniors ought to get discounts but another reason I shop at Kroger’s is because they give 10% discount to seniors on Kroger brands. Those very few dollars sure help stretch the limited food budget a bit further.

Not to mention that one becomes a potential target when they enter a gun-free zone.

Harris Teeter. Tee-hee.

As a young'un growing up in Raleigh, I knew this perpetually drunk English lady that owned the local horse stable and used to always call the nearby market "Harry's Tweeter."

I don't think she was trying to be clever.

So all of us little punks at the barn always called it Harry's Tweeter. But you have to slur it in a drunken English accent.

Wow, I haven't thought of that woman in a long time. She always reminded me of that "Hyacinth Bucket" character on that British show on PBS.

I did not know that. I’m 62 and may qualify. A lot of Kroger brand stuff are as good as the name brands although someone told me recently their ice cream is sub-par

...their ice cream is sub-par.”

Might want to check the discount card out. Don’t know whether it’s 62 or 65 - passed that more than a few years ago so it doesn’t even enter my mind to ask any more. I agree their Kroger brands are as good as if not better than others and a whole lot less expensive. Tried their Kroger brand ice cream one time, that was quite enough. Just save up our money and then buy only Blue Bell when it’s on sale at $4.99 - it’s the best.

A Vice President from Klein’s Shop Rite in Maryland made some inflammatory statements about gun owners and also provides free gift cards for “buy backs.”

Even though Shop Rite is the closest store, after his statement, they lost our weekly business.

This is in Maryland where gun rights are deeply restricted anyway. Maybe someday...

Just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should. It certainly doesn’t mean it’s in your best interest, my best interest or the second amendment’s best interest. To put a finer point on it, people who think they need to openly carry assault rifles into the grocery store are nucking futs that are undermining past and future progress and this is coming from someone who owns 3 AR15s, an AR10, an FAL and an Uzi and more handguns than I can remember. If you see me carrying one of these rifles around openly, it’s because I need to, not because I want to.

If you are “scared” of the lawful exercise of my rights then perhaps the problem isnt me.

Bravo! Well said.

...vs exercising your rights because you want to make people deal with something they don’t want to deal with when they’re doing something else.

I think I see the problem. If you don't believe in something, you believe in nothing.

And now comes the name calling.

Nutter?

My 2nd Amendment rights do not depend on your opinion of what is “reasonable” or what is not.

Kroger’s clearly doesnt have a problem with it...WHY DO YOU?

And since WHEN is a sporting rifle and ASSAULT RIFLE?????

Nutter?

it's only an insult if it's not true.

My 2nd Amendment rights do not depend on your opinion of what is “reasonable” or what is not.

nuts who think it is reasonable to walk around in grocery stores with assault rifles are a threat to my second amendment rights.

Kroger’s clearly doesnt have a problem with it...WHY DO YOU?

Krogers is abiding by the law. When the law changes because a bunch of nuts and lefty fifth columnist types have turned public support against us, they will abide by that law too.

And since WHEN is a sporting rifle and ASSAULT RIFLE?????

so it's reasonable to carry a semi-automatic rifle with ahigh capacity magazine around in krogers? Is that it? More to the point, how exactly does this advance the second amendment agenda? By getting in people's faces and intimidating? Is that somehow helpful?

“it’s only an insult if it’s not true.”

Bait and switch...I said name calling....which is the sign of a weak argument and weaker mind.

“nuts who think it is reasonable to walk around in grocery stores with assault rifles are a threat to my second amendment rights.”

SPORTING RIFLES....you are using emotive ANTI GUN retoric.

Another sign of a weak argument.

And your comment makes no logical sense.....open carry is legal.....period.

“Krogers is abiding by the law. When the law changes because a bunch of nuts and lefty fifth columnist types have turned public support against us, they will abide by that law too.”

Hand wringing and fear mongering.

Krogers is abiding by the law.....period.

“so it’s reasonable to carry a semi-automatic rifle with ahigh capacity magazine around in krogers? Is that it?”

It is LEGAL.....period.

“More to the point, how exactly does this advance the second amendment agenda?”

The “keep and bear” part.

” By getting in people’s faces and intimidating? Is that somehow helpful?”

Menacing is a crime...if you see someone doing it...by all means report them.

otherwise...your statement is hystronic.

Bait and switch...I said name calling....which is the sign of a weak argument and weaker mind.

If you feel the need to walk around your local grocery store with an assualt rifle, you're nucking futs. I walk around Krogers with a full sized Glock tucked under my shirt every time I go there. There's no reason to sisplay it. it serves no useful purpose. Quite the opposite, it alarms people-people who vote.

SPORTING RIFLES....you are using emotive ANTI GUN retoric.

Irrelevant and pointless.

And your comment makes no logical sense.....open carry is legal.....period.

Until people get sick and tired of seeing nucking futs walking around in grocery stores with assault rifles.

Hand wringing and fear mongering.

reality, something you need to get in touch with.

It is LEGAL.....period.

No. Is it reasonable? is it necessary? is it any kind of useful? No. No. and No.

The “keep and bear” part.

The supreme court has ruled that a state can place reasonable restrictions on the right to keep and bear arms. that would include openly carrying firearms which is what will happen when enough people have become sufficiently tired of yahoos running around their grocery storesd with ASSAULT RIFLES.

Menacing is a crime...if you see someone doing it...by all means report them. otherwise...your statement is hystronic.

It is unuseful, unproductive, passive aggressive BS from which nothing good will come. period. It does not strengthen the second amendment, it undermines it. You do not represent the majority of second amendment supporters or concealed carry advocates. You represent a fringe group of nut jobs. that is afact that you need to come to terms with.
