Little loss.
Coats (IN) - 2016 - 64% (Average) - 49% (Creview) - 61% (Heritage) - 63% (CFG) - 83% (ACU) - 64% (FreedomWorks)
Good riddance to RINO rubbish.
Well if we’re “lucky” we can find another “Obama Joe” Donnelly type, right?
He wasn’t up for the fight IOW, door just got opened wide here.
He served in the Senate from 1989 to 1999, then retired, then came back again. At 71, still young enough.
Possibly a gift from the GOPe for Pence to stay out of the Presidential race and not split the GOPe vote?
He retired in fear rather than face Evan Bayh. He came back when Bayh retired.
I hope that little weasel, Evan Bayh, doesn’t attempt to succeed the man that preceded and succeeded him.
As I recall Coats failed to sign the letter to Iran, I expect him to vote less conservatively than usual in his final 2 years.
Evan is just chillin’, makin’ millions in DC at Apollo, waitin’ for Hilly’s VP call....
A Caucasian “moderate”? I think the corpse of Socks the cat has a better chance at getting that call than Bayh.
If Hillary is the candidate (which is certainly no lock) Evvie will be the man.
If it’s Squaw Warren, no.
Three words, Indiana:
Keep... Mourdock... Out.
Marlin Stutsman for Senate. We have a deep bench in Indiana but he is my favorite.
Red state, decent candidate should hold
I hope former Congressman Burton will run.
Dan Burton would be 79 in 2017. He was not very popular by his last terms in office because he was considered an “absentee” Congressman (missing key votes to go golfing) and almost lost renomination as a result (had he faced a runoff in 2010, he would’ve lost). To give you an idea, he got 84% in the 2006 primary, 52% in 2008 and an appalling 29.7% in 2010 (barely edging Luke Messer, who would run in the adjacent 6th district and win in 2012).
I think Marlin Stutzman deserves the shot in ‘16 as he did in 2010 (Coats should never have come back).
Hey, how about John Hostettler? He got his butt kicked BADLY in 2006. Then ran for the Senate and split the conservative vote with Stutzman, allowing Coats to win. Sounds like a GREAT choice to me. If he and Dan Burton both ran, what a wealth of riches!!
Yet another reason why IN needs runoff elections.
Every state.
Or my idea, instant runoff ballot.
Democrat voters would have a lot of trouble with it on their side.
