1.) The base is the one who determines the win. Whether they vote or don't vote.

2.) He is right on all the issues and all the principles that the Republican base hold dear.

3.) He beat the pants off of RINO-Establishment David Dewhurst in a highly contested election.

Nuff said.

Tha base hasn’t picked the nominee in the last two Presidential cycles, unless you think Romney and McCain were the choice of the base.
It will take all conservatives rallying around Cruz to make him the nominee against all the combined power and money of the establishment. The RNC has already been paid by The Cheap Labor Express for an amnesty candidate.

Dewhurst was loved and touted by the GOP-E. Even Perry supported Dewhurst.

Dewhurst has retired to his ranch, and is not an elected official in Texas anymore. ;)

I love saying that Dewhurst lost. I helped hard to make sure of that.

I think Cruz gets ALL of Romney’s votes, plus way more moderate Hispanic votes than Romney, plus the stay-on-the couch Conservatives that ostensibly didn’t vote last election.

The question for me is can he win over many women voters against a woman Dem candidate? I think if he can’t do it, no one can.
