We don’t even know how to appreciate a statesman anymore. He may need to work on that for TV debates. Personally I don’t need a salesman if they aren’t solid at the core. Cruz is solid.
Strange. I’ve never gotten the impression of condescension or superciliousness from Cruz’s speeches...rather, the opposite.
Perhaps Cooke is confusing him with Jeb...?
Have you been following what has been going on in Washington DC since Cruz got there? Reading your comment, it appears you have been living in a cave since 2012. Maybe you should get out more.
Is he suggesting that Cruz have a “listening tour” like Hillary did? That really helped her out! Snort))))))))
Praise and damnation wrapped up in one article. Early in the process and Cruz
is the first out of the blocks so he is going to get both. Once more are in the
field the articles will be less targeted, imo.
Based on this and a plethora (all in the short span of a single day) of kickback we have seen from liberals and RINO Establishment arrayed against him, I’d say it is panicked preemptive strikes to keep him from getting in front of the nation in a debate against a Democrat nominee (and against the Dauphin in the run up to that).
Collectively, they are all so scared sh!tless, they can’t even focus clearly.
Ah Charlie, you agreed with and loved what Ted said, you just don’t like him, your friends agree, they don’t like him either and you really, really don’t like the confident way he engages others when he speaks. I’ve got it.
That was my first thought as well.
Oh, I like that one.
Well, at least he wasn’t talking “at” a telepromter.
Dear Mr. Cooke,
Get back to us when you have argued nine cases before the Supreme Court and won them all, OK?

EXACTLY!!!
Oh, like the “#RaceTogether” crowd was interested in talking _with_ people. Examine thyself, author.
Anybody with a keen sense of observation knows that Ted Cruz spoke TO the people yesterday and they went wild.
And note: HE DID IT WITHOUT A TELEPROMPTER, WITHOUT NOTES!
Try that, Obama.
This is just a bunch of hogwash. Anybody that thinks the National Review is going to be a friend of the conservative GOP candidate is naïve. The GOP will be hand in hand with the drive by’s trying to destroy Cuz. Restoring the Constitutional Republic scares them as badly as it scares the Dems.
But I do. I think his speech yesterday was amazing. No notes. Right from the heart. The libs and the Cooke's of the world have every right to be frightened.
Now he’s TOO good of a speaker....
Yea, I don’t get it. The author of this article isn’t making any sense to me.
“Cruz speaks in exactly the same way when he is addressing CPAC; when he is meeting with small, friendly, informed groups”
Consistent?
Yeah, I’ll take “on message” for $1,000 Alex
