This is a little old, 2010, but things haven't changed that much, food is cheaper than it's ever been in history.

Thanks. I guess my family is doing worse than I thought financially. Our food budget has increased to 25% of our budget, no change in employment status either.

Like Rush says, perception is reality and as prices go up much faster than our income; food doesn’t seem cheaper than ever to me or any of my friends and family.
