One hundred years of progress under “Kemalism” and Erdogan is going to throw it all away I don’t think the Turkish people will accept a reversion to 7th century living
Turkey will not return to the 7th century, but to the 14th. Turkish city types will be upset, but the folks in the deep country will not notice the change since they still live in the 14th century.
Maybe the secular urban Turks of Istanbul won’t, but the rest of Asia Minor in Anatolia is ripe for Islamic fanaticism, and it is to this region that Erdogan is making his promise to restore the Caliphate abolished in 1924 by Ataturk.
Only....Erdogan wants a Caliphate, ISIS wants a Caliphate, and by Koranic definition there can be only one world Caliphate, so where does this lead?
