The Interior Ministry is planning to beef up its terror response capacity by setting up an new elite unit to be deployed in emergency situations, on top of Germany’s existing GSG 9.

The government is taking the step as a response to the recent terror attacks in France and Denmark, believing that Germany’s current reaction capacity is too limited, reports Der Spiegel.

Germany needs “a robust unit that can confront such situations,” said the Christian Democrat (CDU) specialist for the interior, Armin Schuster. …

Still a reactionary force (after the fact). Their best way to deal with these people is to deport them before the get their “allah akbar” on. IMHO

Sure, so they can kill people elsewhere.

D.C. would be a good place for them to test their effectivenesss. There are plenty of terrorists within blocks of each other that are mainly concentrated on the 1600 block of Pennsylvania NW...

I remember an interview on TV with a member of Britain’s SAS. I think the program was about something else but he mentioned that they trained with the German and French and maybe some other country’s elite units.

The thing which I remember is they all learned something new from the other units. Some did certain things better, others learned from them.

Little late isn’t it since the Olympics massacre?

Not necessarily.

My point: Send them back to the hellhole they came from and let them kill each other to their hearts content. Rather that then to continue to kill innocents in their current country of residence. Just MHO

The Germans are on the correct path, but unfortunately their solution is only a reactionary one, not a preventive one. Like calling 911 after the crime.

Better to get rid of the criminals before the crime rather than after the crime. And we all know what these animals are capable of, we see it in the headlines every day.

If in doubt, kick them out.

Once again ... IMHO

They won’t stay put to “kill each other”. They’ll move around to find innocents to kill—after all, they found their way to Germany and other such countries. I would say that back in the “hellholes” that nobody did anything about, their freedom of movement is greater.

So, your solution would be?

They need to be dealt with to the point that they can’t kill anyone. Setting them loose in Caliphate-land merely allows them opportunities for more jihad/terrorism, just like when Obama sets GTMO prisoners loose.

However, by the time the miscreants are dealt with, innocents are dead or injured. If your country is now infested with this vermin, send them home ... problem solved, at least in your country.

Until they come back. Or they decide to try to attack Israel, or the USA (hello open southern border), or somewhere else.

I think we have gotten off topic somewhat. The Germans have the right idea in cleaning up after the fact, however, better to get rid of the cause of the illness before the patient gets sick is what I’m trying to say.

Can’t argue with that notion, certainly. That’d take a war that too many elite western politicians find they don’t have the stomach for, though, although our enemies certainly do.

I think you and I are dancing around the edges of the same coin. From our exchange of thoughts we are just a degree or two away from agreeing.

I appreciate that we have had a civil discourse without name calling or shouting, and that is rare on FR, unfortunately.

You have given me much to ponder and hope we can agree to disagree and part friends ... to debut great and wondrous thing in the future.

“....after all, they found their way to Germany and other such countries.”

.
They didn’t force their way into Germany — they were invited as guest workers in the 60’s to work for Pfennige on the Mark.

And we are making the same mistake in the US. We are inviting people into the country that, we know, will NEVER assimilate simply because their cult does not allow it.

We are importing pieces of a bomb until it will attain critical mass and then there won’t be any stepping back.

They still want to do that in Germany and other European countries. So the efforts will be piecemeal, at least for now.

Little late isn’t it since the Olympics massacre?

As the article notes, the 1972 Munich Olympic massacre was the genesis for GSG9 so I'm not sure how they are a "little late." In my mind, the only thing "late" is the realization is that they actively imported or allowed the return of the seeds of their own destruction. It seems that if anything is late, it's the intelligence info about return of ISIS fighters to Germany. Simply a repeat of what happened in the US regarding the info about Arabs taking flight lessons in MN, pre-9/11, only auf Deutsch.
