Obama was re-elected. My co-workers and client personnel are about evenly split with obama still supported by Democrats, minorities, women, and any others getting government goodies. All problems are blamed on obstructive Republicans. It is disheartening to see the stupidity and willful blindness.

This poll isn't an outlier either. His recent approval polls support this view. With dropping gas prices and an economy that doesn't entirely suck, any President would be riding high.

”… and any others getting government goodies."

The only federal government service that the Founding States delegated to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to tax and spend for, and which can possibly serve all citizens on an almost daily basis, is the US Mail Service (1.8.7). In other words, the states have never constitutionally authorized the corrupt feds to tax and spend for Social Security, Medicare, intrastate schooling, etc..

Please bear with the following explanation as to why the corrupt feds are now providing such services.

Note that the Founding States had not only established the federal Senate, but had given control of the Senate uniquely to state lawmakers. This is partly so that federal senators could protect their states by killing House appropriations bills that raised revenue for things that Congress couldn’t justify under its constitutional Article I, Section 8-limited powers, such bills essentially stealing state revenues.

The Supreme Court had clarified this as follows.

“Congress is not empowered to tax for those purposes which are within the exclusive province of the States.” —Justice John Marshall, Gibbons v. Ogden, 1824.

The problem is that state lawmakers later ratified the ill-conceived 17th Amendment, foolishly giving up the voices of state lawmakers in Congress.

So now, constitutionally clueless voters go home and watch football after voting for their favorite senators, unaware that their senators are actually helping the corrupt House to steal citizens' dollars with constitutionally indefensible federal taxes.

The 17th Amendment needs to disappear.
