If Netanyahu rules out a Palestinian state and expands West Bank settlements, 'the world, including the British parliament, would have no option, but to recognize a Palestinian state,' says Nick Clegg.
British Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg has criticized Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu for reneging support for a two-state solution, saying that if the Israeli leader does not backtrack from those remarks, Britain would have no choice but to recognize a Palestinian state.
Clegg, the leader of the Liberal Democrats, called Netanyahu's vow not to create a Palestinian state "alarming," the Guardian reported Thursday.
Netanyahu, while campaigning Monday, said that if he were to be reelected, a Palestinian state would not be created, in a definite disavowal of his 2009 speech, in which he had voiced support for the principle of two states for two peoples.
Netanyahu has since been criticized for those remarks, and also for warning that Arabs were heading to the voting booths "in droves," by U.S. President Barack Obama and other world leaders.

For quite a long time Netanyahu has said that he would go anywhere, at any time, and talk with anyone in order to negotiate the final status agreement to form the Palestinian State. Netanyahu will STILL DO THAT TODAY ... and yet ... The UK and the Obama Admimistration is GROUSING about ONE STATEMENT that Netanyahu said just hours before the election about the Palestinian State ... that they don't like. SO ... just because of THIS ONE STATEMENT, mere hours ago, and while IGNORING YEARS OF POLICY AND ACTION, the UK and the Obama Administration is going to use that one statement - which was REPUDIATED later - as the EXCUSE they are going to use against Israel and against Netanyahu.
Apparently what the UK and Obama wanted was just ONE EXCUSE ... and they got it ... while ignoring YEARS OF POLICY and ACTION on the part of Israel and Netanyahu!!
Netanyahu maintains the same position hes ALWAYS HAD with negotiating with the PA for forming a Palestinian State. As I suspected and have known from before, Netanyahus position on that is reasonable and fair ... and HAS NOT CHANGED!
And on the issue of ARABS In Israel, he made clear what his position HAS ALWAYS BEEN with Israeli Arab Citizens ... they have full rights of any citizen and they will be helped by various social programs as he has always done, and they will NOT be discriminated against. They are FULLY INTEGRATED into Israeli society!
BOTH of those things sounds EXACTLY like the Netanyahu from before and extremely fair. Israel should be EXTREMELY PROUD of Netanyahu as their Prime Minister!
Prime Minister Netanayahu gets SLAMMED by the Left and the New York Times ... AND ... and he gets SLAMMED by the Right and the Israeli papers ... LOL ...
AGAIN ... Netanyahus position on being very willing to negotiate with the PA and very willing in forming a Palestinian State has remained the SAME for years ... as he pointed out from his Bar-Ilan speech.
Netanyahu has never been the holdup on forming the Palestinian State, it has been the Palestinian Authority who has been the holdup. They dont want to get the Palestinian State through negotiations with Israel, but they want to get it from it being imposed from the outside without any conditions attached,
Netanyahu Flip Flop: I Want a Two-State Solution [Israel]

Days after vowing not to establish a Palestinian state, Netanyahu says something else in his first post-election interview.
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has retracted his pre-election statements, according to which he would not allow a Palestinian state to be established.
I dont want a one-state solution. I want a sustainable, peaceful two-state solution, Netanyahu said Thursday in an interview with MSNBCs Andrea Mitchell. I havent changed my policy.
Netanyahu said his earlier comments were a reflection of changing conditions on the Palestinian side, pointing to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbass pact to form a unity government with Hamas, which Israel, the U.S. and most European countries consider a terrorist organization.
Im talking about what is achievable and what is not achievable, Netanyahu said Thursday, insisting that he would support a demilitarized Palestinian state under a plan that would ensure Israels security.
The UK and the Obama Admimistration simply wants to cherry-pick a single statement, out of YEARS OF POLICY and ACTIONS by Israel and Netanyahu, to use as an EXCUSE to bring down the hammer on Israel and Netanyahu, something the UK and Obama has wanted to do all along!!
In First Post-Election Interview Netanyahu Says He Supports Sustainable Two-State Solution, Never Changed His Policy

JNS.org - In his first interview with American media after his Likud partys election victory, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said he supports a demilitarized Palestinian state that recognizes a Jewish state, if specific circumstances make that a realistic possibility.
I dont want a one-state solution, he said in an interview with NBC News. I want a sustainable, peaceful two-state solution.
In a pre-election interview on Monday, Netanyahu had told the NRGwebsite that he would not support Israeli withdrawal from its territory to make room for a Palestinian state, due to the possibility of attacks by Islamic extremists.
I havent changed my policy, Netanyahu told NBC News on Thursday. I never retracted my speech at Bar-Ilan University six years ago calling for a demilitarized Palestinian state that recognizes a Jewish state.
Netanyahu said he believes circumstances have to change for there to be a Palestinian state, adding that current Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas has made a pact with Hamas that calls for Israels destruction.
And every territory that is vacated today in the Middle East is taken up by Islamist forces, he said. We want that to change so we can realize a vision of real, sustained peace.
The U.S. State Department on Thursday said it cant forget what Netanyahu said about his position on a two-state solution earlier this week.
Certainly, the prime ministers comments from a few days ago called into question his commitment to that, State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said.
We believe he changed his position, she added. We cant forget about those [initial] comments.
It is highly irresponsible of Obama and now UK to rush to “recognize” what seems to be a terrorist regimes running the so-called Palestinian territories. They launch rockets into civilian areas non-srop. They will not even recognize Israel’s right to exist.
What in H is going on? Is is ALL about oil? Or are Western governments that much infested with Islam operatives?
There already IS a Palestinian state: Israel. AND, it’s capital is Jerusalem.
As to the Arab invaders of Jordan and Syria and Lebanon, well that’s their problem.

There’s an evil and built-in hatred of the Jews and their homeland, Israel. The British government tried their best before 1948, and even after 1948 ... to first prevent Israel from becoming a state, and then prevent Israel from defending itself (by keeping zisraeli fighters in British concentration camps) ... and now trying to DESTROY ISRAEL with a “unilateral declaration” for a Palestinian State ... instead of “by negotiations” with Netanyahu, as he has been trying to do all along!

Ah, the faux bleatings of outrage. Teenaged romance levels of sophistry from government heads and spokespeople.
Too bad that the results of such manipulation will be catastrophic for Britain and the US.
Mr. niteowl77
The terrorist enablers are eager to set up Obama’s 58th state before he leaves the US Presidency.

Exactly. Reading the Economist (don’t ask) is a continual exercise in blood pressure control because it is so anti-Israel . . . both overtly and covertly. And it is seen as an “objective,” rational and (pseudo)intellectual European magazine.

Most of the world is not that happy with Israel. They have a simple choice.
Either begin to consolidate their territory, knowing that it will bring boycotts, sanctions, and legal action. Or they can leave.
A two state solution will not work.
The Proglodytes are turning this into a global war. Conservative values vs. libturd values. Integrity vs. perfidy. Good vs. evil.
straight out of the demoncrap playbook
Then Israel should recognize Atzlan, they would get the full support of the indigenous latin peoples of America,,//sarc//
Read about Richard Meinhertzhagen. He did his best to guide the UK to realize the best hope for the ME was to establish Israel as in his life of experience Arabs were lazy, incompetent thieves whereas Jews had principles and integrity. 100 years ago. What success Israel has enjoyed may be in no small part to his efforts. It also explains why our libturds find common cause with the Muslims.
I’ll check him out ... but before even doing that ... we can clearly see that he had absolutely no influence on the British Government, according to what it did to Israel!
Oh, but he did. The Balfor declaration would not have happened had he not influenced the decision makers.
“What in H is going on? Is is ALL about oil? Or are Western governments that much infested with Islam operatives?”
It’s about thousands of years of hatred towards a people that have done nothing less than put forth inventions that has let the human endeavor progress this far.
Want to know how warped this is? Giving Iran a bomb to destroy Israel also destroys the Palestinians. Has anyone in their right mind even thought of that little tidbit of information?
Israel should then recognize an independent Scotland, and Wales, and support returning N. Ireland to the Republic.
Or does “Better Together” only apply to the U.K.?
I haven’t heard about his interaction in getting the Balfour Declaration included in the League of Nations Palestine Mandate. I know that the British Government insisted on including it in the legal papers. Even so, let’s just say for sake of discussion that he did have a part in that ... but ... in spite of that, “everything went downhill” after that, as the British government continually worked, in all the years after that ... to undo anything and everything the Balfour Declaration said and stood for!
