The United States has been forced to reassess its policy regarding the Middle East peace process, US President Barack Obama told Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in a phone call on Thursday, after Netanyahu suggested earlier in the week he had abandoned the cause.
According to a White House official, speaking to The Jerusalem Post, Obama told Netanyahu that the US "will need to reassess our options following the prime minister’s new positions and comments regarding the two-state solution."
"They also discussed Prime Minister Netanyahu’s comments about Israeli Arabs," the official added.
Netanyahu said in an interview with MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell on Thursday that he never retracted his speech in Bar Ilan University six years ago calling for a demilitarized Palestinian state that recognized the Jewish state.

That is why Bibi won by such a large margin. Israeli Jews are scared shitless of Obamatron. All they can do is plan for the next war, which is well on its way. The only good thing about what is happening is that many states like Egypt, Saudi Arabia, and Jordan also see the danger now.

Netanyahu’s position on being very willing to negotiate with the PA and very willing in forming a Palestinian State has remained the SAME for years ... as he pointed out from his Bar-Ilan speech.
Netanyahu has never been the “holdup” on forming the Palestinian State, it has been the Palestinian Authority who has been the holdup. They don’t want to get the Palestinian State through “negotiations” with Israel, but they want to get it from it being “imposed from the outside” without any conditions attached,

Days after vowing not to establish a Palestinian state, Netanyahu says something else in his first post-election interview.
Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has retracted his pre-election statements, according to which he would not allow a Palestinian state to be established.
“I don’t want a one-state solution. I want a sustainable, peaceful two-state solution,” Netanyahu said Thursday in an interview with MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell. “I haven’t changed my policy.”
Netanyahu said his earlier comments were a reflection of changing conditions on the Palestinian side, pointing to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas’s pact to form a unity government with Hamas, which Israel, the U.S. and most European countries consider a terrorist organization.
“I’m talking about what is achievable and what is not achievable,” Netanyahu said Thursday, insisting that he would support a demilitarized Palestinian state under a plan that would ensure Israel’s security.

If they are smart, Israel has arrived at that decision months ago.
And since they are smart, they realize Obama’s influence will come to an end.
