I'm out of the Republican Party — I am not a Republican'

After 30+ years as a Republican I registered as an Independent back in 2007 right after I heard GWB smugly say, "See you at the bill signing", in reference to his determination to stab conservatives in the back with his unwanted amnesty.

And I have not regretted it since.

How do you actually register as an “Independent”???

It has been my observations that former Republicans, and Democrats for that part still go back and vote their old party affiliations on election day anyway...For the most part...

When I actually see an “I” tagged on a candidates name, I usually don’t have to look farther than their previous political affiliation to find out a lot about that person...

And if they turn “I”, well, there just cannot be much in the way of deviation away from that general parties political ideology to begin with...It’s usually a difference on one push button issue that person disagrees with which forces a divorce from their previous affiliation...
