I know I’m being stupid, but this whole red state blue state crap is a media creation. One election, they colored the states in red for Republicans and blue for democrats. Before that, red was the color of communism, and they deftly assigned it to conservatives. It really should be the other way around. The left of today is red, they will spill your blood for their cause. Conservatism is blue, calm and safe. By coloring liberalism blue and conservatism red they connote goodness and badness to the wrong sides. I don’t think that we should employ their designations for us. Better not to ever say red state or blue state at all, and maybe we can de-fund their meme. They did it in 1992 to help Bill Clinton get elected. In the runup to the election, the Media purposely assigned "red" to maps they displayed representing States Bush would carry, and "blue" to the states Bill Clinton would carry. In the Previous elections, Reagan was colored "blue."
The Reason they forced George HW Bush to be "Red" was because with all the stories coming out about Bill Clinton associating with Communists, visiting Russia, Protesting Vietnam in London, touring behind the Iron curtain, it would simply attract attention to Bill Clinton's communist sympathies and possibly cost him the election.
The Media decided to keep the colors switched because pretty much all Democrats now are indistinguishable from Communists, and so the subterfuge still aids the Democrat Party.
