Black students at UC Berkeley often feel isolated and even oppressed, says a campus group that wants the nations premier public university to step up recruitment of African American students and improve support for them.
So the Black Student Union hammered out 10 demands, delivered them to the chancellor, and set a deadline to meet them.
The demands include renaming a building after Assata Shakur, a former Black Panther and the first woman on the FBIs list of Most Wanted Terrorists.
To the students, Shakur is no terrorist. Shes a victim and ally who gives voice to their pain.
The students call Shakur an icon of resistance within oppressed communities (who) represents Black resilience in the face of unadulterated state-sanctioned violence.
Cori McGowens told The Chronicle that trying to excel academically is immensely difficult while coping with the issue of antiblackness on campus.

Dear black people. To go to college you have to learn to read and write and do math. There are no EBT cards for that. You actually have to do the learning yourself.
I can’t remember the details, but there’s the case of 5 or 6 blacks kidnapping a white couple, then taking them to a house where she was tortured and raped while her fiance was forced to watch. Both murdered.. They found her crammed into a trash can or some such.
More affirmative action is what they want. It means a few more deserving Asian students who scored high on entrance exams will be denied entry to another UC school to accommodate Blacks and Hispanics who scored much lower on the same tests.
Aaaawwwww, you just made those names up.
You can’t fool me.
.
Oh but you have to understand, UC is loaded with Asians (citizens and foreigns) and all of those hard working folks take the places of those ‘people of color’ that the BSU want in class
Why settle for less, demand that they rename the place to Assata Shakur University, Berkeley
I just got a new tag line:
“an icon of resistance within oppressed communities (who) represents Black resilience in the face of unadulterated state-sanctioned violence.
Dang, it’s too long.
Reference Channon Christian and Christopher Newsom. Appalling murders. And a Leftist judge recently ordered new trials for the murderers.
Has America been perfect? Yeah, sure. Have African Americans, existed in Nirvanna? Of course not. But blacks have enjoyed many privileges and opportunity in America than most people in most times ever had. People can concentrate on negavives, but there is aspect to the rainbow that is often overlooked.
Did U C what I did there?
Channon Gail Christian, 21, and Hugh Christopher Newsom, Jr., 23, were a couple from Knoxville, Tennessee. They were raped, tortured, and murdered after being kidnapped the evening of January 6, 2007 when Christian's vehicle was carjacked.[1][2] Five people were arrested and charged in the case. The grand jury indicted four of the suspects on counts of capital murder, robbery, kidnapping, rape, and theft, while a fifth was indicted at the federal level........................".............Of the four charged at the state level, three (Letalvis D. Cobbins, Lemaricus Davidson, and George Thomas) had multiple prior felony convictions. After a jury trial, Lemaricus Davidson was sentenced to death by lethal injection and Letalvis Cobbins and George Thomas were sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. Vanessa Coleman was sentenced to 53 years in prison for facilitating the crimes and Eric Dewayne Boyd was sentenced to 18 years in federal prison for being an accessory after the fact to carjacking.[3]......
...........According to the testimony of the Knox County Acting Medical Examiner Dr. Darinka Mileusnic-Polchan at the subsequent trial of Eric Boyd, Newsom was sodomized with an object and then raped by an individual. When his body was discovered near a set of nearby railroad tracks, it was found that he had been bound, blindfolded, gagged, and stripped naked from the waist down. He had been shot in the back of the head, neck, and back and his body had been set on fire..........................
.................................According to the testimony of the medical examiner, Channon's death came after hours of torture, having suffered injuries to her vagina, anus, and mouth as a result of repeated sexual assaults. It was also reported that her body was scrubbed with bleach which was also poured down her throat, in an attempt by her attackers to remove DNA evidence, while Channon was still alive. She was then bound with curtains and strips of bedding, her face covered with a trash bag and her body stashed within five large trash bags, before being placed inside a residential waste disposal unit and covered with sheets. The medical examiner said there was evidence that Channon slowly suffocated to death.[5]
Pet peeve - upper case letter "B" in the word "black". It is a color, an adjective, it gets lower case letters. By the way, I've seen FReepers do it.
Pampered, over-educated and indulged, wimps.
Suck it up buttercups, life isn’t easy no matter your color.
That rivals anything ISIS would do. It’s beyond words. ‘Vile animals’ is not appropriate enough to describe those 5 pigs.
The other students (mostly Asian) probably know that the majority of Blacks of hispanics on campus got in there only because of Affirmative Action. If you were a studious Asian student (or White), would you want to have a student in your study group or discussion group who is there only because of AA? No, you would want somebody who could pull their own weight and make a valuable contribution to the group.
Do the football players, who are mainly Black, want to have under-performing “token” Asians or Whites on their team? Of course not. The same principle applies. Quit asking for undeserved favors and grow up.
“Black students at UC Berkeley often feel isolated and even oppressed..”
Think I give a care? Nope. You 50 IQ black commie apes go punch your ticket back to Africa and go hunt zebras with spears.
Considering how racist liberals really are, I wouldn’t be surprised if there is some truth to this.
