The son of Alabama Chief Justice Roy Moore was arrested Sunday for drug possession near the scene of an attempted break-in, court records show.
Caleb Moore, 24, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and possession of marijuana.
According to court documents, officers responded to the 1200 block of Allen Street in Troy to a report of an attempted home break-in. They found five men, including Moore, outside near a pickup truck that smelled strongly of marijuana.
After the men said there were no drugs in the vehicle, officers searched the truck and found a bag of marijuana in the glove compartment, along with Moore's passport. Several Xanax pills also were found in the bag.
Moore was arrested and taken to the city jail. He was released on bond totaling $8,500.
Moore addressed the charges in a Facebook post on Monday afternoon:
"This is nothing more than a prime example of how media and crooked police officers and critics of my dad try to not only destroy his career for what he stands for but will go as far as trying to destroy his family," he wrote. "I am not a drug user as the drug test taken today will show. As for the malicious possession charges, justice will be served."

“Do you know who I am?” Wonder if he’s used that line before.
This is at least his 3rd drug-related arrest, so probably.
Too bad for Judge Roy Moore that his son is an idiot. Of course, the left is gleeful that this is happening to the judge.
There is no info on any of the other “five men”. It would be interesting to know more about them and their associations.
Most likely the other five men were a combination of off duty cops and informants, just an educated guess.
It is possibly a set up. He’s done drugs before and was arrested. If he’s clean now who is going to believe it?
five men, outside a pickup truck.
Extended cab? Regular PU holds 2 or 3. 5 is tight even for extended.
Indeed.
Maybe someone to help lead him astray or exploit a known weakness. Get the right group together to exploit group dynamics. Or it could be nothing like that at all. It’s just a possibility.
"Most likely"? Hardly. Caleb Moore is a proven screw-up.
Not many people have escaped the scourge of alcohol or drug abuse in the family. Educated or not we see an overdose rate
higher than ever and heroin invading like the plague. I have attended the funeral of a much loved college educated man with multiple rehab stints . His parents loved him beyond words and paid through the nose for many expensive trips to drug rehab places. He died in their home of an overdose. He broke their hearts. He had scholarships to college. He had friends attend his funeral that obviously were still doing drugs. We are in a crisis in this nation.
Who will solve it? God Knows.
So Caleb is a case of “lead me not into temptation for I already know the way”?
CC
I should have been more clear. I meant that he is an idiot for his Facebook post that brought his father into the discussion, not for the drug use.
It is a crisis of heartbreaking proportions. The 60’s ushered in self-indulgent pleasure without shame or judgement and we are seeing the results
He's an idiot for both.
“”This is nothing more than a prime example of how media and crooked police officers and critics of my dad try to not only destroy his career for what he stands for but will go as far as trying to destroy his family,” he wrote. “I am not a drug user as the drug test taken today will show. As for the malicious possession charges, justice will be served.””
Between the liberals, gays and Police Unions, the young Mr. Moore might be a target. Made him break in that house.
As Mayor Barry once said “Da bitch set me up!”
“Most likely the other five men were a combination of off duty cops and informants, just an educated guess.”
You might have a point as I have heard of cops using informants to gain evidence against drug suspects.
I take it Caleb isn’t Huggy Bear.
I'm guessing it was Moore's pickup. If the other men were not inside the vehicle, and the drugs were in the glove compartment, then the only person they could arrest is Moore.
