On Nov. 9, 2011, a civilian texted Furminger, Do you celebrate quanza (sic) at your school?
Yeah we burn the cross on the field! Then we celebrate Whitemas, he responded.
On May 10, 2012, Furminger wrote to another officer, according to the documents, I hate to tell you this but my wife friend (sic) is over with their kids and her husband is black! If (sic) is an attorney but should I be worried?
The officer wrote back: Get ur pocket gun. Keep it available in case the monkey returns to his roots. Its (sic) not against the law to put an animal down. To which Furminger responded, Well said!
The dozens of texts contain repeated uses of racial and homophobic epithets.
In response to a text about a black officer getting a promotion, Furminger wrote, F n.

Stupid.
People who write stuff like this are making sarcastic and ironic observations about society and I doubt the people who actually are racist make it past .002%.
That cop isn’t just stupid — the guy is a real sick puppy.
“Bad thought” must be rooted out. Misguided beliefs must not stand in the way of the glorious future.
We are at war with homophobia and always have been.
Children should also be enlisted to tell authorities of “bad thought” from their parents so government experts can give their parents the help they need.

The officer was being tried for other corruption charges and his phone was seized as evidence.

But it has nothing to do with corruption.
I find it scary that these “thought crimes” are nonetheless deemed germane in the ‘justice system’.
So if Hillary Clinton gets tried for corruption charges perhaps her email server will be seized and they'll report all her private slurs on everyone (we can only wish). Despite what the officer did (which was wrong), are his private sentiments relevant?
“He was sentenced to more than 40 months in prison.”
He may have some awkward moments during that 40 months in prison.
Just because the police cannot spell three syllable words does not make them homophobic.
What word is the word that the SF police are misspelling? Homicide is often misspelled as homicide.
The office of the Zampolit never rests
This isn’t overt racism .
People are just tired of having political correctness shoved down their throats and react in one of the only ways left to them.
?????
A lot of scary warped people are attracted to police work and maybe not enough good people. They should and could have better screening methods.
A proper reaction would be to quit the force. IMO.
Or perhaps he's just seen far too much like this: Female caught on video beating another female and a child.
If his response is to become a white supremacist then he has no business wearing a badge — and can expect to be shunned by decent people.
