Today, the GOP Establishment control of the GOP machinery was overturned.
Here is my 'back from the trenches' description of what happened today, in DeKalb County, Georgia. In summary, Populist GOP Conservatives have seized control of the local GOP machinery.
Here's how it worked: A local Freeper who shall remain nameless invited me and quite a few other like-minded people to the Delegate Selection process meeting sometime last month. We all signed up as delegates. There was no competition, by signing up, we became delegates to a person. Other conservative-minded activists must have done the same thing. I do not know that definitively, but the results speak for themselves:
Today was the election of all of the local GOP party county representatives, namely: The GOP County Chair, 1st Vice Chair, 2nd Vice Chair, and 3rd Vice Chair; Treasurer, and Secretary.
It was a total sweep. The true-conservative candidates all won. The establishment candidates all lost. To my eye, the establishment folks all looked a little stunned. Establishment hand-picked and Establishment-endorsed candidates who spent money, were summarily defeated. The populist conservative guys and gals -- who spent next to nothing -- handily creamed them.
We even sent a nice hearty 'middle finger' to Johnny Isakson, the GOP establishment Senator from GA: Johnny has a long tradition of speaking at these engagements. Today, when the vote came up to make room for him, our populist district chair made a motion that instead of us stopping when he got here, he speak at the end .. when the business we were THERE for, was conducted. (As an aside, we ran out of time anyways, and would have been completely messed up if he had given his usual stemwinder). The motion carried by a good margin. Johnny was told this, and he refused to come after all. The rationale was "We don't want to interrupt your business," but I am personally confident that he had a short, two word, eight-letter phrase that was what ACTUALLY came out of his mouth, and the second word would have been 'them'. LOL
I'm glad it happened that way. First of all, we *did* run out of time. Secondly, Johnny Isakson is on notice: The DeKalb County GOP has been captured by conservatives. This is one of the most liberal counties in Alanta, so this is quite a win.
How dare you? That is not true. Many of us, as Christians, could not in good conscious elevate this Mormon cult bishop to the highest, most honored office of our country and make him the leader of the free world. Indeed we are patriots and love this country too, but we also know that our first responsibility is to God, that God is our King, and we have a responsibility of casting our vote for a “prime minister” (president) who is worthy of Him. If even so much as one person would have been led away from the salvation of Christ into this cult because of our votes, the Lord would most certainly hold us accountable. Make no mistake with Romney at the helm our country would be in as much peril as with Obama. A less obvious peril that would have cracked the moral underpinnings of this JudeoChristian nation in ways that are not obvious, ways that would surely cause far more harm in the long run than the blatantly wicked ways of Obama — ways that obviously wrong and when filtered through the lenses of JudeoChristianity are easy to discern; easy targets to take aim at and fight. We have a far better chance of returning to our JudeoChristian roots and restoring nation without the poison of Mormonism. Each and every one of you who voted for Romney had the opportunity to vote for a Godly man but instead you chose what you decided was “the lesser of the two evils!” You failed, and you wasted your vote! Wouldn’t it have been better to send a message to the GOP leaders in Washington that we mean business and that they had better start paying attention to us and stop compromising with the devil? Had Romney been roundly rejected by the base in favor of a conservative principled third party candidate, even if that candidate narrowing lost, don’t you think Boehner and McConnell would have gotten a different message, that Rino-ism is totally unacceptable, and would be behaving a whole lot differently now? Instead they think Rino-ism is the way to go, because after all a huge majority decided to vote for the biggest most ridiculous Rino-ist Rino of all time in 2012. By the way, In the past, I have been precinct captain and convention delegate more than once. I have manned the phones, walked precincts, donated my time and money to help elect good men and women to office, and I have done so in part because my Christian faith demanded it. But voting for Romney was something I just could not bring myself to do. And I do not sit on my hands now and do nothing, nor do others who felt as I did that by voting for either Romney or Obama we would consent to the damnation of our country — and perhaps our immortal souls was well. God has given us this wonderful country and we have no business ever ever EVER voting for an ungodly president who is not fit to serve Him even if we think he might not be as bad as the other guy. I suspect I have been voting longer than you have been alive and I have been involved longer in the GOP longer than you have been alive so just be careful how you judge. When you get to be my age, knowing you will be standing before the thrown of God before long, you might want to take more care in how you cast your vote as well, your vote represents your voice, your conscience, and your principles; it means far more in the grand scheme of things than salving your conscience, and thinking you have served God and country, by choosing a subtle evil over a gross evil, and thinking this will preserve what our forefathers fought and died for for the generations yet to come.
Yeah, I don’t think he minds tail and the only reason he’d shake a tail is if made everything better...
Congratulations. And precisely correct this IS how it is done. So glad that poor old Johnny was treated the way he was....what a complete sellout he is.A big win indeed for the folks in Dekalb. Great effort and great result
From your mouth to God’s ears (and good conservatives too).
Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their party
everything you have posted on this thread are just additional reasons that I am glad I no longer live there. What once was a great place to live has been turned into a liberal dumping ground that is dysfunctional, broke, and Venezuelan
Yew tawkin a-me nOObie?
Well Bless your Heart.
This is a report of activism that succeeded wildly.
It is meant to serve as a blueprint and an inspiration for others to seize control of the GOP from the GOP establishment.
I had it in Activism for a while, but it dropped off of that. If this isn't Activism, I am at a loss for what is.
Romney was a liberal, that is why he lost
Way to go!!! Rock on!!!
If I did not know better, I would conclude that somebody on Johnny Isakson’s staff put in a call to FR.
YOU VILL NOT DISSSSSEMINATE ZE AKTIVISSSSSSM!!!
It doesn't exactly inspire me, nor fill me with confidence, nor love.
