The correct phrase is Medal Of Honor Recipient.
But I know you meant it as a good thing

As in “welfare recipient.”

Faint heart never WON fair lady.

“Winning” can come about through strife and effort. Which is why the traditional, correct phrase is “Medal of Honor winner.”
