I would have thought the same thing.
Even more shocking is how well the MSM suppressed this news in 1973-1976.
In 1990, my next door Black neighbor gave me a paperback book about the crimes, said he had never heard about it, and asked me what I knew.
I have always been a well informed guy, and I had never heard a thing about it, either.
Part of the reason why the ‘Zebra Killers’ aren’t so we’ll known in California crime lore of the mid-1970s is because they were overshadowed by other high profile criminal sagas of the time: The Zodiac Killer, the Symbionese Liberation Army, the ongoing Manson Family lunacy, and so on.
I can tell you from personal experience that growing up as a kid in California during that time period taught me at an early age that counterculture freaks and weirdos were grown-ups to despise.
