Valerie Jarrett says she plans on staying in the White House until the end of President Barack Obamas term.
In an interview with The New York Times Magazine published Friday, the presidents senior adviser discussed politics and policy and made clear that she wants to stick around until Jan. 20, 2017.
Oh, my goodness, I intend to stay until the lights go off, Jarrett said. Why would I miss a single second of this?
Asked whether she ever gets surprised at people describing her influence over Obama in terms similar to those used to describe Vice President Dick Cheneys in the Bush administration, Jarrett demurred.
Please dont say that. Stop right there, she told the magazine. The president listens to people who have interesting things to say that could be the most junior person on the staff or it could be a senior adviser or it could be a person who whispers something to him across a rope line.

His third or fifth term?
This is the money quote “The president listens to people who have interesting things to say that could be the most junior person on the staff or it could be a senior adviser or it could be a person who whispers something to him across a rope line.”
So Obama listens to “interesting” people. He doesn’t apparently value listening to the person giving him the best advice. He only listens to the “interesting.” Jerry Seinfeld is interesting, I imagine he wouldn’t provide very good advice on national security.
Quick, somebody call the electric company.
She is referring to America’s Lights of Freedom.
How is it you can see both hands of the POTUS puppet master at the same time?
That is what Rasputin said too.
That is what Rasputin said too.
Two phones....that’s one more than Hillary can handle.
She’ll remove all the “O” and “0” from the WH computer keyboards..
Nobody is doing that. Gass is making it up.
But even if people are saying that, at least Cheney was on the ballot, so voters voted for him. Jarrett didn't face any votes whatsoever.
Don’t be so sure, toots.
A Dragon Lady is usually a stereotype of East Asian women as strong, deceitful, domineering or mysterious.[1] The term's origin and usage is Western, not Chinese. Inspired by the characters played by actress Anna May Wong,[2] the term was coined from the villain in the comic strip Terry and the Pirates.[1][2] The term has been applied to powerful Asian women and to a number of racially Asian film actresses. The stereotype has generated a large quantity of sociological literature. Today, "Dragon Lady" is often applied anachronistically to refer to persons who lived before the term became part of American slang in the 1930s. It has also been used to refer to any powerful but prickly woman, usually in a derogatory fashion."
have your EPA keep shutting down coal plants and your lights may go out sooner than you think, beach.
similar to those used to describe Vice President Dick Cheneys in the Bush administration
I think a more accurate comparison would be of Rasputin to the Czar’s wife in Russia.
"....I hadn't heard of this until you folks told me"
She is like Hillary, Pelosi, etc. Dried up and pathetic to the point they can only get off to running over other people. They can only orgasm off their power over others and being able to hurt them.
Interesting way to put it.
Not 'until Jan 20, 2017'....
Not 'until Barack Obama leaves office'....
Not 'until the end of Obama's term'....
But 'until the lights go off'....
We need to start screening staffers for reptilian shapeshifter alien DNA.
