Asians are fatalistic and do not trust anyone outside of the clan. Among Asians, Moslems are the most fatalistic and clannish. All believe deep in their souls that telling an outsider something that is true about one or one's relations is giving power to the outsider over one's family. Relations with outsiders are always contests for advantage and there is really no concept of contract the way westerners know it. That's why Asians seem to be "inscrutable" and one can't rely on anything said or trust in deals that don't have solid enforcement mechanisms.
Among Asians the Mohammedans are the most clan defensive and fatalistic. Among Mohammedans Arabs and Arabized others are far the most extreme in these attitudes and the most likely to slit one's throat after a pleasant sharing of hospitality.

I believe the Moslem Brotherhood has a large presence in the DoS just under the SoS and in the Civil Service positions where they can’t be removed.
