Parents are demanding that a teacher of religion classes in northern Turkey be fired after he told some of his female students that they “deserve rape” for not wearing an Islamic headscarf.
“You don’t cover your head anyway, so raping you or doing evil to you is permissible [in Islam],” the female teacher, identified by the initials L.Y.İ., told students at the Halil Rıfat Paşa Middle School in the province of Tokat on March 9, according to parents who spoke to Doğan News Agency.
The teacher was reportedly angered by noise caused by mixed male and female students in an elective class on the Quran, during which 17 seventh graders were talking to each other instead of listening to the teacher.
According to the parents, the teacher also told the girls that they should have prayed for Özgecan Aslan - whose brutal murder in southern Turkey on Feb. 13 caused national outrage - instead of going to demonstrations to commemorate her.
Mahmut Demirbağ, the school’s headmaster, reportedly told the parents that the teacher “apologized” for the comments. However, some parents have continued to demand that she be dismissed, threatening legal action.
“She insulted 13-year-old girls for not wearing a headscarf during a Quran class, which is elective. This teacher cannot lecture my daughter,” a parent told the Doğan News Agency.
Levent Yazıcı, the education director in Tokat, said an official investigation into the claims had been launched, adding that the teacher had been temporarily appointed to another school.
Elective classes on the Quran and the life of the Prophet Muhammad have been included in Turkish schools since 2012.
The religious education class, on the other hand, is compulsory. A recent European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) ruling stated that high school students in Turkey must be allowed to opt out of this class to “ensure respect for parents’ convictions” and to guarantee the right to education.
What a nice religion! If I see someone I want to rape, I just watch them until I see some infraction and, I can be judge and jury and take advantage of their misdeed. Never mind the conflict of interest. What love! How romantic!

I found that the book “Secrets of the Koran” by Don Richardson to be very insightful as a Christian and westerner trying to understand Islam. I was fortunate enough to be able to have a lengthy discussion with him about a wide range of issues after a seminar about 8 or so years ago. Here is one takeaway and I’ll paraphrase and amalgamate a number of concepts in a couple of sentences……. I’ve never understood how on earth a society could develop which insisted on complete coverings for woman to the extent that no one (outside of her immediate family inside her own home, one presumes) sees her face. What is the explanation for this? How did this come about and why do they put up with this? Basically, there is a very large component about Islam that makes it a sex cult and this forms the basis of why women must dress that way when in public. Since the sex cult culture is assumed de facto, they must be covered as a means of suppressing arousal and since all men are suspicious of all other men, it is the men who insist on their women being covered essentially as a means of protecting their property from all other male members of the sex cult.
For those who believe the Judeo-Christian God & allah are one & the same:
How do you reconcile God’s Golden Rule, “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you”, with “raping you or doing evil to you is permissible [in Islam]”.
Answer: They don’t reconcile, they are completely opposite. One is the essence of good, & one is pure evil.
THE SPEAKER EVEN ADMITS IT IS EVIL. HE KNOWS RAPE IS EVIL & SAYS SO. And he is right that islam allows, even encourages rape, murder, theft, slavery, & lying.
Therefore, allah represents EVIL, ie., allah is SATAN.
We need a ruling from Caliph Obama on whether this teacher is Islamic or not.
