You don't think it isn't already poisoned past the point of fixing? Really?
If the whole Ferguson PD notifies the city fathers that they intend to quit in 24 hours and leave the city residents to fend for themselves. That would really cause a panic. No cops also equals no revenue to the city from fines.
What would you expect the Ferguson government to do in response?
I wonder what the hate mongers would do if, as a last press conference, the cop spokesman said this: “Residents, the Media, and the US Department of Justice have maligned and impugned the officers of this department. Therefore, effective immediately, we notify the City Manager and administration of Fergusion that its police officers are submitting their resignations at once. Residents of Ferguson will now be responsible for their own security from the criminal element. Therefore, if you don't have a gun, buy one, learn to shoot, learn the rules for deadly force, and protect yourselves.”
Call St. Louis County Sheriff and contract out the policing to them. And let's be clear, the Ferguson police officers most likely don't have to worry about quitting because I doubt the city will keep the force in operation. There is no way they will be able to pay for all the changes and additional requirements that the Justice Department is about to place on them. From the city's standpoint it'll be cheaper to disband and go with the sheriff.
