Two-tiered tech sector on the way.
Well, it already has a lot more than two tiers, so...
Knowledge and intelligence always prevails, in the long run.

That’s an awful lot of wording to shill for Common Core.

Because when I go to use an app on my smart phone my #1 top concern is the race and gender of the person who wrote the code. /s

Anyone who thinks you can take a Bootcamped noob and make him into a solid developer, is on crack. (Thusly, Obama).
It took me years to become as good as I am. Decades, even.

Those who score under 400 on the SAT math are probably under-represented in the software-development industry.

I wish someone would give me a common-sense, plain English reason as to why diversity is our "greatest asset". For instance, it didn't prove to be our "greatest asset" at Fort Hood, in spite of what some stupid general said. I would think that people who qualify for the job, and are the most highly qualified, would be the greatest asset to any position.

Knowledge and intelligence always prevails, in the long run. I deal with rampant tech incompetence on a daily basis by people who are supposed to be my peers. This is already happening, and it's really bad. Eventually my white, male, heterosexual tail is going to hang it up, and they can deal with the idiocy.
This is ridiculous.

Bootcamp Noob + Fake Resume = H1B Consultant

Except the employee may not be seen as just a “coder” by his prospective employer. What if the position includes SW testing, V&V, design, database development, documentation, requirements development, marketing, customer liaison? What if the company wants to hire someone they can develop into a competent software engineer and developer as part of their investment? I have lead a number of fairly large software projects, and even more V&V of existing simulations— For most of those projects there might be one position where a “coder” would be fine, if he were proficient and followed best practices (okay, if he documented his code at all :-) ), but for the other team members, I needed someone with more experience and a broader skill set.

Guys like me have to clean up the messes that those guys make.
I may go independent-consultant and triple my rate. Might as well make money on the carnage.

The question is whether all of these leaders promoting diversity are really this stupid, or are just lying to benefit their careers.

Yesterday the President launched TechHire, a timely initiative linking 20 communities and 300 employers to fill 120,000 tech jobs through accelerated training programs, such as coding bootcamps. I thought the official name for that was H-1B visa.

What’s scary is part of the ACA is mandating diversity in medical schools.
