ATF: Notice to those Commenting on the AP Ammo Exemption Framework(Suspends their M855 Ban)
atf.gov ^ | March 10, 2015 | ATF Public Affairs Division

Thank you for your interest in ATF's proposed framework for determining whether certain projectiles are “primarily intended for sporting purposes” within the meaning of 18 U.S.C. 921(a)(17)(C). The informal comment period will close on Monday, March 16, 2015. ATF has already received more than 80,000 comments, which will be made publicly available as soon as practicable.

Although ATF endeavored to create a proposal that reflected a good faith interpretation of the law and balanced the interests of law enforcement, industry, and sportsmen, the vast majority of the comments received to date are critical of the framework, and include issues that deserve further study. Accordingly, ATF will not at this time seek to issue a final framework. After the close of the comment period, ATF will process the comments received, further evaluate the issues raised therein, and provide additional open and transparent process (for example, through additional proposals and opportunities for comment) before proceeding with any framework.

Senators were not supposed to be elected rather appointed by the state legislators. Repeal the 17th and no Senate elections.

I guarantee the ATF is not done with this proposed ban.

When did you ever see them give up this easily?

In fact, when is the last time you recall they bowed to the public on anything?

“Second Amendment rights require not only access to firearms but to bullets. If law-abiding gun owners cannot obtain rifle ammunition, or face substantial difficulty in finding ammunition available and at reasonable prices because government entities are banning such ammunition, then the Second Amendment is at risk,” said Grassley’s letter.”

One Congressman went so far as to introduce a bill that would abolish the ATF all together. “The ATF is a scandal-ridden, largely duplicative agency that lacks a clear mission. Its ‘Framework’ is an affront to the Second Amendment and yet another reason why Congress should pass the ATF Elimination Act,” Sensenbrenner said in a statement.

The pressure led to the ATF’s backing down of their recommendation to ban “green tip” rifle ammunition, the type most commonly associated with AR-15 and other sport and assault rifles.

But the attacks on your second amendment rights aren’t going away and the backing down of the ATF in this case is just a temporary victory.

There is shared concern that Obama could be targeting other types of ammo to further assault the second amendment. This assertion was backed up by the National Rifle Association’s Executive Director Chris Cox earlier this week.

“This president hates guns, he always has,” Cox said. “He doesn’t care for the Constitution, he says he’s got his cellphone and his pen and he’s going ignore it. Well, we can’t do much about his hatred, but we can do something about trying to dismantle the Second Amendment.”

Banning AR-15 just because it has the capability to pierce soft body armor, is a very dangerous precedent that could be used in the future to initiate more gun and ammo bans.

The stretching of Obama’s executive power is out of control and this is just the latest example of why!

Even if they suspend the ban on M855 - you ain’t gettin’ any. It’ll be as scarce as .22LR.
I am getting emails twice a day of places that have it in stock. Just that it's right now almost 65 cents a round with shipping.....
