From what I understand, the Mother was killed when the Accident happened. I believe she had been dead for hours.
If I am mistaken, perhaps another FReeper can clarify.
But hey, it makes a good story.

On a news report by a Salt Lake City channel last night: police said the mother appeared to have died at the moment of impact.
The car was in the river for about 13 hrs until a fisherman saw it and called police.

I am certainly open to the story as told. But I would like facts that demonstrate the mother was dead prior to the voice being heard.
