As we near the glorious day when Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., calls former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton before the House Select Committee on Benghazi for a grilling session that shell never be able to prepare enough for, were reminded of when Gowdy left a room full of journalists stunned and speechless an impressive feat.
In a typical Washington, D.C., press conference, a couple dozen journalists and media types crowd into a small room and fire off a barrage of questions toward the person at the podium but thats not how it works when Gowdys behind the wheel.
Gowdy changed the very nature of the traditional press conference when, just minutes into his statement, he turned the tables and began asking the questions starting with, Can you tell me why Chris Stevens was in Benghazi, the night that he was killed? Do you know? Does it bother you whether or not you know why Chris Stevens was in Benghazi?
He delivered his hard hitting questions in perfect Gowdy form, leaving the journalists in the room scrambling to figure out how to proceed.

Its worse, he’s acting about doing something which is far worse than doing nothing!
I would think Gowdy is going to get exactly what he wants which is Hillary making a public statement. He has said very little except what he has wanted to say, “month long gaps in email” and more interesting, tonight he revealed (only after she committed to a presser) that he learned about the server the day BEFORE NYT broke the story......this will give Hillary GERD, as she is now wanting to know his source and what else he was told. The stratigery is delicious.
I’m not too sure Gowdy will get anywhere with Hitlery. She is a very well trained communists and will irritate Gowdy in a hot second. Watch the stumbling and delays. It is a joke. Going nowhere like it has for years.
Yes, I think some of us misunderestimate him and his strategery. I will enjoy seeing her testify under oath questioned by Trey Gowdy. She may get elected, but we will have her on tape. She will lose the claim to any moral superiority she sports now.
He quickly followed up with, Do you know why additional requests for security were denied? Do you know why an ambassador asking for more security, days and weeks before he was murdered and those requests went unheeded? Do you know the answer to why those requests went unheeded?
Gowdy then pointed out the ridiculous explanation from the White House as to why no assets were deployed during the siege, claiming that they couldnt have arrived there in time.
Gowdy then shouted to the room, But you know, they didnt know when it was gonna end, so how you can possibly cite that as an excuse?
Here's my guess: Democrat press handler calls an editor at the New York Times and says, 'I've got a hot one for you... here's a list of questions your guys can ask that idiot Republican Trey Gowdy - you know the vast right wing conspiracy member who's attempting to make a big deal out of nothing? Here's some questions that will put him in his place.
Then the editor suffers by looking into himself and balancing out the hard truth - these are GREAT Questions, but they might help democrats... after much soul searching - and anguish - he decides to use the questions and hands them off to the people who will stand speechless in front of Gowdy...
The fact he's being stonewalled by the state department is irrelevant to me. Indict the witch and convict her, or go do something else. If the state department is stonewalling him, then indict them too. But quit crying about them not giving him all the answers.
The video at the site is really old. Its time for him to get it done.
No one can take down the choice of the American people, especially “the ladies”.
“He also said he does have the authority to get the email server”.
I meant to say he DOES NOT have the authority to get the server. He said a federal judge would have to request it.
“She may get elected, but we will have her on tape”
She’s not going to be elected. There is just too much garbage for the Clinton’s to overcome this time. If the dems are stuck with her as the candidate she’ll lose to Scott Walker and Ted Cruz/Marco Rubio in the general election. Cruz/Rubio will carry Florida for the GOP and Walker will carry the rust belt states that the communist carried in 2012.
Congressmen do not have the power to indict people.
Cordially,
I am a bit confused. I found this press conference on youtube and it’s from 2013. Why is this now being posted?

Right.... he has to get her indicted. He needs a court to indict her. Either he can get that done or he’s just wasting time.... and money.... and effort.
Your point is often missed by those who either want instant results or are so steeped in defeatism that they can't conceive of anything else.
The ideal result would be for the committee to continue investigating for the remainder of this year and most of 2015 with a well researched and documented report issued in the last week of the congress with a recommendation for referral to the new (hopefully republican) justice department for prosecution. Anything concluded before then will go to the current justice department where it will be buried and forgotten.
Save for later
I think you will be waiting a long time.....
The FBI and Attorney General cannot act anyway without retribution from
Congress and the President. They'll all just be replaced until they're silent.
The country needs to know Hillary... the press won’t vet a democrat so Gowdy can do their job for them.
Well, one of the big deficiencies of the Constitution is that there's no Constitutionally mandated penalty for ignoring it.
That is something Article V could fix and, indeed, is part of an amendment I've been thinking about that would fix our debt-problem:
Fiscal Responsibility Amendment |
---|
Section I The power of Congress to regulate the value of money is hereby rescinded; the unit of money of the United States is the Dollar. Section II The value of the Dollar shall be one fifteen-hundredth avoirdupois ounce of gold of which impurities do not exceed one part per thousand. Section III To guard against Congress using its authority over weights and measures to bypass Section I, the ounce in Section II is approximately 28.3495 grams (SI). Section IV The Secretary of the Treasury shall annually report the gold physically in its possession; this report shall be publicly available. Any five states may commission a third party audit to confirm this report at their own expense. Section V The power of the Congress to assume debt is hereby restricted: the congress shall assume no debt that shall cause the total obligations of the United States to exceed one hundred ten percent of the amount last reported by the Secretary of the Treasury. Section VI Any government agent, officer, judge, justice, employee, representative, or congressman causing gold, money, or real estate to be confiscated from a citizen shall be tried for theft and upon conviction shall: a. be removed from office (and fired, if an employee), b. forfeit all pension and retirement benefits, c. pay all legal costs, and d. restore to the bereaved twice the amount in controversy. Section VII The federal government shall assume no obligation lacking funding, neither shall it lay such obligation on any of the several States, any subdivision thereof, or any place under the jurisdiction of the United States. All unfunded liabilities heretofore assumed by the United States are void. Section VIII The federal government shall make all payments to its employees or the several states in physical gold. Misappropriation, malfeasance and/or misfeasance of funds shall be considered confiscation and theft. |

I don't know about that; Congress isn't exempt from Treason charges — given the amount of open-borders guys in government all it would take to totally screw them over would be for a governor to declare a state of invasion, put their National Guard on the border with lethal-force authorization, and demand that the federal government assist as per Art 4, Sec 4.
