As we near the glorious day when Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., calls former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton before the House Select Committee on Benghazi for a grilling session that she’ll never be able to prepare enough for, we’re reminded of when Gowdy left a room full of journalists stunned and speechless — an impressive feat.
In a typical Washington, D.C., press conference, a couple dozen journalists and media types crowd into a small room and fire off a barrage of questions toward the person at the podium — but that’s not how it works when Gowdy’s behind the wheel.
Gowdy changed the very nature of the traditional press conference when, just minutes into his statement, he turned the tables and began asking the questions — starting with, “Can you tell me why Chris Stevens was in Benghazi, the night that he was killed? Do you know? Does it bother you whether or not you know why Chris Stevens was in Benghazi?”
He delivered his hard hitting questions in perfect Gowdy form, leaving the journalists in the room scrambling to figure out how to proceed.

I hate to say this but I’m seeing a lot of political posturing on Gowdy’s part with few results. I hope I’m wrong about this.
Did Gowdy know Her Thighness was using a private server during his Benghazi investigation? If he did, why has it only come to light now?
I used to be his biggest fan.
I’m still an admirer, but....I’m getting fearful.
I predict, if it comes down to it, she won’t appear before him - she’ll refuse. Her lawyers will invoke some sort of privilege and sue the government. If I’m wrong, then I believe she’ll refuse in another way, by simply not talking - no recollection, no idea, taking the fifth, that’s classified, etc. With constant interruptions by her wall of attorneys objecting to every question. And if that doesn’t work she’ll have a stroke and be unable to testify while needing to recover in Monaco.
In short, she’s not going to help her own takedown. If they really want to take her down, then they’re going to have to find enough evidence to convict her no matter what she says or doesn’t say.
I used to be a big Gowdy fan but no more. He supports the orange crybaby and seems to be all bark and no bite.
agree. Why doesn’t he have the server yet? I’m sure they’ve worn out a couple of delete keys already.
He is a a skilled and trained courtroom attorney. He will get some action if the Republicrats let him. My belief is that if he gets too close to the truth (1600 Pa. Ave.) he will be shut off like a leaky faucet. The uniparty is in enough hot water with the flyover country folks already.
I understand your concern, but I think he is doing two things. One is he wants to keep things on track, by holding specifically what he and his committee were tasked to do. The second is that when you do an investigation, you do not tell all you know, until the end. Letting information out midway through lets others know what they can and cannot cover up. So he is proceeding along the lines of a constitutional inquiry with the normal investigative techniques. Of course, I’d like to see it go faster.

We have to keep Trey ALIVE to do that. The klintoons have a trail of bodies stacked behind them like so much cord wood.
I’ve written Trey to be especially careful while crossing streets up there and to carry a weapon.

Obama does the same things, Obama: “I just heard about the IRS targeting and I’m appalled, I will do everything in my power to get to the bottom of this, heads will roll, the buck stops here! I love America and this will not stand!..... blah blah blah...”
and then he does the opposite.
He just aid on Megan Kelly that the investigation is taking forever because the State Dept has been stonewalling the hell out of the committee. He also said he does have the authority to get the email server. He said it would have to go to an independent third party judge. Then he could see it. Gowdy is as tough as they come. He just might be the one to take down this crooked battleaxe.

Obama lied like hell. Josh Earnest said today that Obama knew Clinton had the private email account the entire time she was Sec of State.
I don't expect anything to become of the Gowdy show.
