Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, in an exclusive interview with Fox News, appealed to the U.S. to play a greater role in helping his country fight terrorism -- as he urged the creation of an "Arab ready force" to confront the Islamic State and similar groups.
The Egyptian leader spoke with Fox News' Bret Baier in an extensive interview conducted in Cairo. He addressed the need for what he called a religious "revolution," urging moderate Muslims around the world to "stand up" against terrorists twisting their religion.
But in the short term, he said more military might and funding will be needed to confront the extremist threat and questioned whether the U.S. was doing enough for Egypt.
El-Sisi, speaking mostly through a translator, said that while the U.S. has helped Egypt for decades, Egypt needs that help "more than ever," and wants to see a "big response from capable countries."
He said the suspension of U.S. equipment and arms to his country has sent a "negative indication to the public opinion that the United States is not standing by the Egyptians."
El-Sisi -- who eventually took power after former President Mohammed Morsi was overthrown in 2013 -- was referring to aid and shipments that have been held up in the wake of Morsi's ouster. Though the U.S. continues to deliver nearly $1.5 billion a year in mostly military assistance, some high-profile shipments have been halted since the military leadership overthrew Morsi -- and particularly since the military's crackdown on Islamist groups. This includes holding back on deliveries of F-16 fighter jets, M1A1 tanks and Harpoon missiles.

I’d like to see the whole interview but FOX couldn’t get the tape to play correctly or something.
Obama is standing by the golf course.
And the military is now gay and tranny.
Oh yeah...we're standing by and bending over.
Come and get your Obama snack.
The US standing by Egypt.
Obama and his bosses aren’t.
And even Al Sisi knows the truth.
Al Sisi is a good man. We would hear more from real moderate Muslims if we didn’t have people like Obama pandering to and cultivating maniac Islamists.
Strictly a rhetorical question. Bet on it. He already knows the answer. So do we.
When pigs fly department: The day has arrived when a Muslim Arab leader is more committed to defeating Islamic terrorists than an American president.
The question in that headline is why I asked on an earlier thread whether Obama is a shia or a sunni muslim. Because depending which of the two al Sisi is, will be the determinant of the answer to the headline question!
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi punks the American sissy.
The Arab ready Force that al Sisi is proposing, is really a Sunni Ready Force.
Al Sisi has just had his urgent meeting with the new King in Saudi Arabia, who has been wetting his Depends over the Shia/Iranian advance in Yemen, eight hours drive from Mecca, and the Shia/Iranian Army on the march reconquering Iraq.
Egypt and Turkey are the big Sunni militaries in the region, and the only ones who could provide a heavy force to defend the Saudis against Iran, if the US doesn’t show up this time. Not surprisingly, the Saudis don’t want to bet their lives and fortunes on Obama, so they are making other arrangements.
Getting Turkey on board was a long shot, because Erdogan (who also came to meet with the new King) is so deeply in bed with the Muslim Brotherhood.
This speech makes it look to me that al Sisi stepped right up to planning the defense of his largest donors, figured out roughly how much stuff he would need for that mission, and quickly realized that they will need the Americans on their team to provide enough equipment, munitions and technical support.
I would like to have Congress invite el-Sisi to testify as to his plan for an all-Arab force to combat radical Islam. Of course, extra security would be needed to protect him from a WH hit squad.
“whether Obama is a shia or a sunni muslim?”
Obama’s family in Kenya are Sunnis, his step father in Indonesia was Sunni, as were the schools he attended there. His half brother Malik works for the Sunni government of the Sudan, supporting Sunni subversive and terrorist groups. The Arab money that funded his education was also Sunni. Even that guy he just knows from their Hyde Park neighborhood Louis Farrakhan, is a Sunni (albeit a way out on the fringe version), rather than a Shiite.
Only Consigliere Valerie Jarrett has links to Shia, though seemingly coincidental.
Thanks. Is al Sisi in Egypt a Shia?
