Amazing. Any real photojournalist would have been salivating over the opportunity to get two consecutive Presidents from opposing parties together in one shot on such a historic day.
I’m willing to bet that the original shot even by this very photographer included the Bushes. It was probably wide enought to get everyone in the front row.
The editors could easily have cropped a few people from the left if they really needed to crop it.
The “other” photo in the Telegraph article is from the bridge, where the composition would’ve been cluttered/compromised by the dividing barrier in the middle of the bridge.
The megan kelly link I included, shows them on the same street as the Times front page photo. Note, that megan kelly source article at my FR link has a popup that expects users to ‘like’ her article. I closed the browser tab since I couldn’t find out how to close the window without liking it. But the photo was there.
