A professor at Granite State College and chair of the history department at the Derryfield School in Manchester, New Hampshire admitted to writing the Common Core State Standards for English Language Arts in order to end white privilege. According to the response heard on the video, Dr. David Pook shocked the audience at an event at New Hampshire Institute of Politics when he made the following statement:
The reason why I helped write the standards and the reason why I am here today is that as a white male in society I am given a lot of privilege that I didn’t earn[.]
Dr. Pook went on to say all kids deserve an “equal opportunity to learn how to read” and the same advantages he had. However, according to Campus Reform, the Derryfield School where Pook works considers the CCSS inferior and does not use the Common Core State Standards, not to mention that the school has a student body that is 91 percent white. In addition, Campus Reform notes that the “Standards” have been especially hard on black and Hispanic students, who have seen their test scores plummet since the introduction of Common Core.
According to Dr. Pook, not all children have equal opportunity to learn to read. He never stated what advantages he, as a white male, had over other students. What specifically is prohibiting children from having equal opportunities to learn? What has changed over the past 50 years? Perhaps the real problem with public education is caused by liberalism.

Sad! Fortunately I was blessed to attand Christian schools K-12. My parents sacrificed to make that happen.
I had good schooling and was mostly always challenged.
“I was raised in rural Wisconsin. I attended a ONE ROOM school, with ONE teacher who had 2 years of college -8 grades-14 students. There was NO running water ( water brought in every school day in a 10 gallon milk can) & with outdoor toilets behind the school Playground==a merry-go-round.
I would bet today that at least 50% of those students attended college for at least SOME classes & that at least 25% of those students got a 4 year college education.”
Sounds like my wife’s education enviroment....Told her when finished a certain book (ONE BOOK), she could go to High School...She did finish it, went to HS at15 yrs old...graduated college (where I met her) and graduated at19..I married her at age 20...21 for me....
Gimme that old time SCHOOLHOUSE !!!
Good rules to follow.
OK I have often seen the quote that Communism is the equal distribution of misery
BUT
More applicable to what we see today is that there are great profits (ask AlGore) to be made///political positions to be attained//// >>>> via promising equal distribution of wealth and equal distribution of global warming misery via gov't programs especially Federale Gov't programs
I am saying that liberals have learned how to work this scam. To personally make $$$$ off it.
Liberals know how to make money off this vast hypnosis. Conservatives mostly fail at this due to being religious and personal honesty and family
Back in the day meaning 40-50 -70 years ago even skeptics and atheists and Ayn Rand style libertarians lived by at half these principles you mention>>>>>>
Which is very good compared to what we see today
our liberal maroon overlords...... they love brainwashing the children
Most valuable essay. Thank you for posting the link.
What you describe is a confused woman who was gunned down by multiple cops as she exited her car. She was not even in the same league as Michael Brown or Saint Trayvon.

“So, he wants to make everybody equally stupid?”
County school systems were implementing that long before common core.
Former St. Pauls teacher arrested as part of AG probe "A former St. Pauls School teacher didnt want investigators to know about his sexual relationship with a student, so the two conspired about what to say under oath, according to the state attorney generals office.
David O. Pook, 47, of Warner was arrested Wednesday morning and charged with two counts each of witness tampering and conspiracy to commit perjury. He is the first person to face criminal charges stemming from the state attorney generals ongoing investigation into the elite Concord boarding school. Pook was a humanities teacher at St. Pauls from 2000 to 2008 before he left under what authorities said were questionable circumstances.
