As Hillary Clinton Stays Quiet About Private Emails, Republicans Seize Moment to Criticize Her
New York Times ^ | March 8, 2015 | ALAN RAPPEPORT

....“There are gaps of months and months and months,” Mr. [Trey] Gowdy said Sunday on the CBS program “Face the Nation.” “It strains credibility to believe if you’re on your way to Libya to discuss Libyan policy that there is not a single document to turn over to Congress.”.....

....Democrats remained on the defensive over the situation, given Mrs. Clinton’s status as their presumed presidential nominee despite not having formally announced her intentions to run.

Senator Dianne Feinstein...said Mrs. Clinton must “step up” and explain why she had used a private email address during her time as secretary of state, increasing the pressure on Mrs. Clinton to publicly address the matter.

“I think that she needs to step up and come out and state exactly what the situation is...From this point on, the silence is going to hurt her.”

...Many senior Democrats appear anxious and said they hoped Mrs. Clinton would offer some clarity about why she had used her own email account to conduct government business.

...“I think at the end of the day this will just be regarded as a slight hiccup, a small bump in the road six months from now,” Mr. [Charles] Schumer told CBS. “The bottom line is she’s a national figure, a potential presidential candidate. People are going to shoot at her.”

Mrs. Clinton has so far only said in a post on Twitter that she wants the public to see her emails. Over the weekend, the controversy spilled over into the world of comedy when “Saturday Night Live” featured the dust-up.

Impersonating Mrs. Clinton sitting on a couch, the comedian Kate McKinnon said the contents of her email were no big deal.

“Those emails are clean as a whistle,” she said. “This is not how Hillary Clinton goes down.”

“But Mrs. Clinton seems to have missed the most important lesson that everyone else learned from the Watergate scandal: The cover up is worse than the crime”

Nope, IMO what the Clinton crime syndicate is covering up is way worst than the cover up itself.

“If they were obama emails, it would be a non-issue....”

In a way, the media already made Obama’s email a non-issue here. If the media would only do its job.

During the interview, Obama said that he first learned about this in the newspapers, ...two follow up questions should have been (1) how many others in your cabinet are using private email to conduct the people’s business’, official government business and (2) did you ever receive an email from one of Hillary’s private accounts or any other cabinet member?

His praise of Clinton during the interview seemed out of place to me. I cynically wonder if he was communicating to her via the media to get rid of any emails that she sent to him. The media story is going to turn into hysterical Republican’s war on women, trying to destroy HRC’s presidential campaign.

Why knock Hillary out of the nom? She's so beatable. Jeb will look like a soft, fat old woman next to O'Malley.

As for me, I don't much care. The GOP has betrayed so many ways, I'm thinking of going rogue in 16.

Hillary was famously seen here Oct 8, 2011, on an official trip to
Libya---working her Blackberry. Yet, no emails from that day
were turned over to the House Benghazi Committee.

GOWDY: “It strains credibility to believe that if you’re on your way to Libya to discuss US Libyan foreign policy, that there’s not a single document turned over to Congress."

Gowdy has requested emails related to Libya, before, during, and after, the attack that killed four Americans.

(Hillary's Missing Emails) May Be a Key to Addressing
'Pay-to-Play' Whispers at Clinton Foundation
National Journal | March 7, 2015
BY RON FOURNIER / FR Posted by MeshugeMikey

"Follow the money" ---- Watergate rallying cry----- explains why the biggest threat to Hillary's presidential dreams is her family foundation...where corporate money, foreign money, gobs of money sloshing around a vanity charity, that could be renamed "Clinton Conflicts of Interest Foundation." (or Hillary's 2016 Super-Pac) ....

......the emails might reveal the nexus between Clinton's work at State and donations to the Clinton Family Foundation from U.S. corporations, foreign nations, etc. (Excerpt) Read more at nationaljournal.com ...

Let's get to it, pronto----the nexus between Clinton's work at State and donations to the Clinton Foundation from US corporations and foreign nations.....

....but more importantly.....WHERE the money went after it was handed over to the Clintons. (Can you say Hillary's 2016 Super-Pac?)

THE REPORT WE ALL WANT TO SEE:

<><> dates and times of Hillary's emails WRT to US foreign policy issues,

<><> dates and times of Obama's official statements on said foreign policy issues,

<><> dates and times of foreign govt donations to the Clinton Foundation(s).

Ever notice that when some dhimmicrat breaks the law, the MSM, if it bothers to cover the story at all, does so from the angle that the Republicans are attacking the poor widdle dem

I noticed it right away. The piece is more about Republicans seizing on Emailgate than it actually is about Emailgate.

But it surprises me a little that the NY Times is taking the lead on this story rather than relegating coverage to the conservative outlets.

I posted this comment on a WaPo story but it fits here.

I am old enough to remember when all of the TV networks covered the Watergate hearings gavel to gavel, preempting their schedules for months. Nobody died in the Watergate, Nixon didn’t order it, but an 18-minute gap in 4 years of Oval Office audiotape was taken as proof that he was part of the cover-up, and he was forced to resign in disgrace. Pulitzer prizes were awarded to WaPo reporters, best-selling books were made, blockbuster Hollywood movies were produced.

Compare that to today, when the mainstream media has become “American Pravda,” (ABCNNBCBSNYTWPLAT etc) and is an essential part of the cover-up of Benghazi and other deadly scandals such as Operation Fast And Furious, where thousands of assault rifles were sent into Mexico in order to lead to a high body count that could be blamed on the American 2nd Amendment. Hundreds were murdered in Mexico so that Hillary Clinton, Obama and Holder could spread the false narrative that “90% of the guns found at Mexican homicide scenes came from America.” This false-narrative lie was enthusiastically reported by the WaPo. After Operation Fast and Furious came to light with the murder of Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry, the WaPo went into cover-up mode instead of reporting it.

Or Benghazi, where 4 brave Americans were killed, while Hillary and Obama refused to send a rescue mission, but instead conspired to cook up the false video narrative.

You WaPo reporters should look in the mirror and see what we see: sell-outs, hacks and presstitutes without a shred of integrity.

Team Clinton has already issued its marching orders to its cronies and media allies. Employ the old play book that makes a crime not a crime. This time, it goes like this:

So what Mrs. Clinton has a private e-mail account, so does everyone. What? Thaf is not the issue you say. You say it is that she conducted government business over that account. Well, no problem, Mrs. Clinton will be happy to release all her e-mails from her State Department account. But wait you say, those aren’t the private e-mails. Come on now, this is another phony scandal and, anyway, it is an old story. Time to move on.

Even Colin (Colon) Powell-—long silent since his alignment with obamaumao... he’s come out with his own “I had private email” to try and help gloss over the paper mache job to clean and cover for hillary. Big difference — he didn’t have his own server and ONLY use private email. Big, Big difference.

And a group not buying this crapola— the Millenials who will not stand for this lying... not even lying from the lovely charming and..... oh so Marie Harf-like Chelsea the daughter grifter.

Like they shot at her when she corkscrewed her way out of the aircraft.

Great post.

Until the MSM becomes honest, there is little hope any change.

If the press does not report it and continue to report it, it is not a scandal.

Sort of like with the IRS scandal.
