Hungarian Jewish leaders are criticizing a new Holocaust museum under construction in Budapest for omitting the culpability of Hungarians in the attempted genocide of the Jews.

The museum in Budapest, called House of Fates, is nearly complete, but the planned exhibition focuses only on the last period of the Holocaust in Hungary, starting in 1944, when the ghettoization and deportation of over 500,000 Hungarian Jews was already complete. It fails to deal with the earlier persecution against Hungarian Jews, starting with the passage of anti-Jewish laws in the 1920s, local Jewish community leaders and historians complained. Community leaders said they were not consulted about the planned exhibition. …

Jews often were subjected to discrimination even prior to the Jew laws of the 20’s. Jews we sometimes not even allowed to travel in Hungary without permission from the local authorities - and many trades and occupations were denied them etc

Jews lived in Hungary long before the Magyars (Hungarians) arrived in the 9th century. Anti- Jewish discrimination goes back there at least as far as those days, such as the effort in 1079 to force Jews to wear star badges and denying them rights to farm, etc There were good kings too. But any history of anti-semitism in Hungary certainly can’t be said to magically spring forth like a damned Phoenix in mid or late 1944. Just saying. A more realistic presentation of history would be a credit to modern day Hungary

“discrimination even prior to the Jew laws of the 20’s”

It is a made up name (Jew law) by a Jewish newspaper.  The 1920 law correct name is Numerus Clausus and has no Jew or any other nationality mentioned in it. Find it and read it.  The law came in effect after Hungary lost 2/3 of its territory with its Hungarian population in it and annexed to neighboring countries, and its Hungarian population forced into assimilation.  Hungary never started WWI or WWII also.  Why being the only one losing territory?

This is an example of another smear campaign launched by One World Order leftist who are dominating EU. Oh, well is this article pulling an Alinsky rule on Hungary?

Yup - after Hungary was overrun by Germany, most of their army ended up on the eastern front against the Russians. My ex- father in law was one of them.

Search for “Maygar WW2” on You Tube - there’s lots there. (”Katona” is soldier)

I don't even ask you to inform yourself about the Hungarian or in general the European history. - it is too late for you.  But, your ignorance and bias in this area is monumental.  It seams to me that you have shown yourself as a Soros organization's plant in this forum.

"...most of their army ended up on the eastern front ..."

This is correct.  Also, during WWI the Habsburgs (Austria) send a lot of Hungarians, including most of them from Transylvania, into losing battles like the one at Piave river.

Your input is refreshing, thank you.  Also, thanks for the video!

"Putin sees it all as Russian territory"

Please, don't scare me!

In 1848 the Habsburgs were  forced to make a pact with their arch enemy the Tsarist (Czar) Russia,  to put down the Hungarian revolution against the Austrian occupation.  In 1956 the USSR (CCCP) just rolled in the tanks to put down the Hungarian anticommunist revolution.  The "West" including USA promised help, but never fulfilled their promise. I talked to a USA retired officer who was there at the Austrian border waiting for the go order which never came.

So, Putin can dream about sphere of interest, but not about extra territory. The Carpathian Basin is Hungary.

Will the museum’s exhibits include at least a reference to George Soros?

The Hungarian equivalent of the Nazi Party was called the Arrow Cross. Its symbol was a cross that looked like a plus sign but with arrows at the end of each line set inside of a square sitting sideways, like a baseball diamond. They seized power in a coup d'etat, aided by German special forces, on October 15, 1944.

Haha! If you don’t want to waste any time with me, it is my pleasure. My facts are accurate. I could have written many more facts about the long history of anti-Semitism in Hungary. And I was tactful in my comment, too. All I pointed out was the inaccurate impression of starting a “history” in late 1944. ( In other words, the Germans didn’t invent it and they didn’t force it on an otherwise -Edenic Hungaria in 1944.). There’s nothing questionable or controversial or provocative about that. As far as Soros goes, I consider him a very evil man. You can have him! Best,

I do not mean to scare. We know he thinks the entire USSR belongs to Russia, it would not be a huge stretch to add the old east bloc to that
