The plane is a real dog with very poor stall spin characteristics.

It was derived from the Ryan STA which is one of the nicest flying aircraft ever but they ruined the STA airframe with the military mods and the piece of junk engine Kinner engine.

In the universe of cool WWII aircraft there are wonderful trainers and L Birds like the Stearman, the Fairchild PT-19/23, the WACO biplanes, the Navy N3N, the Stinson L-5, Piper L-4 , the Taylorcraft L-2 and the Buckers , all of which are safe, fun flying aircraft.

Or just get a Ryan STA if you like the Ryan polished metal look.. STAs cost big bucks but Harrison Ford could buy the entire Ryan STA fleet left flying in the US with his pocket change.

Why in the heck would he fly a widow making dog of a PT -22 when he could afford to fly anything he wanted. It's not even remotely a rewarding plane to fly. It makes no sense.

And the Menasco's engines are rarer than Hens Teeth. Yes they are stunning to the point plans exist to make a Replica, lots of time and $....

Climbing to the top of Mt. Everest is no picnic either, but there are a bunch of people who insist on doing so.
