The island of Hispaniola, has a mountain range across the northern band of the island. The geology of this mountain range is consistent between the Dominican Republic and Haiti, with similar geology running through both countries. According to published reports, the Dominican Republic derives 25% of their GDP from mining, while Haiti currently generates less than 1%. from the above link. That 1% will not jump to 2.5%, less than 10% of a normal domestic share of mining income. This is not a sweetheart deal. It is a criminal deal consistent with the destruction of the Haitian economy the Clinton's have pursued for the past 25 years.
