If an increase n the minimum wages causes MacDonald's,for example,to raise their prices that *won't* cause me to spend *more* while I'm there.In fact,it might even cause me not to patronize them anymore.

You gotta admit it would be funny if McDonalds agreed to start all NEW employees at $13 an hour - AFTER the layoffs because they brought these in:

Yup.
To add clarity: A typical McDonalds employees will now have to pay more for the same Big Mac. So, their wage increase is instantly consumed by higher prices. So the net gain is zero, or worse, less than zero.
Simple rule: nothing is free and someone always has to pay and that someone just might be you. I wonder how many liberal politicians realize this. I bet that many do but the game is to buy votes.
