how could a new minimum wage possibly cause small businesses to struggle?

I assume it’s a higher minimum wage
- which makes employees happier,
- which causes them to provide better service,
- which draws in more customers,
- which makes more money for the business owner.

And if it doesn’t, “business owners are like gazillionaires or something” so they just need to eat less caviar on their next transatlantic flight to ski in Europe.

I wonder how lefties will respond when this example is used during the next minimum wage battle. Bookmarked so I can find out next time it comes up.

But of course if all those goods things would happen if employers raised the minimum wage to $13.00 an hours and profits would go up, they would have already done so.

If in fact an increase in the wage, reduced turnover, brought in more productive employees, and so forth net income could possibly go up. Henry Ford proved that in 1914 with his $5.00 a day wage (double the going rate at the time).
