I call bullshit. It would not be catastrophic if Obamacare went down if Congress then did two things:
1) Struck down barriers to interstate health insurance;
2) Struck down barriers to cafeteria-style health policies that allow people to absolutely choose whatever coverage levels and issues they want combined in their policies, instead of being forced into cable-TV-style enforced group policies.
If that happened, we’d have the best quality, lowest-priced medical system in the world within a single year.
3) Tort reform.
My mom was an office manager for a doctor for over 30yrs. She started long before HMOs, etc(which were more or less an invention of the Clinton, if I’m not mistaken). She said that when they took over health care, it all went to hell.
She told me back in the day, you paid as you went unless there was some type of emergency and it required some serious work or a visit to the ER/Hospital. I remember my doctor’s offices being in the garage of a split level house and their wives were their secretaries.
There’s a video on Youtube, Oklahoma Doctors vs Obamacare. These guys nail it on the head. Oh, to have some common sense solutions like what these guys do.
But it would give you more control and take back a little of what they've stolen, so that can't be tolerated.
