Now that Obammie has opened the borders and stopped deporting foreign criminals, I can’t think of any reason for it.
I’ve always considered it a waste. We have the FBI, the CIA and Control.
If Maxwell Smart can’t protect us, DHS can’t.
We need homeland security, but that is a responsability of the government at large and not as an additional expense from our tax base

I don’t think we need it. But we should not have expected the Republicrats to abolish the agency or cause a DHS shutdown because they’d “get the blame”. Apparently, “being blamed” is the worst thing that can happen to a Republicrat. I guess when Patrick Henry talked about “liberty or death”, he didn’t realize that “being blamed” was actually worse than death.
Technicians of the Media Misinformation Megalopoly (inescapable disinformation hegemony) are already gearing up for their blizzard of lies when the next 9/11 or Boston Marathon Bombing happens because of the deliberate campaign to this nation’s boxers.

BREAK IT UP
The DHS has been ordered not to enforce the laws and do not effectively protect the borders under those orders so not funding them changes nothing other than in some miniature minds the agents won’t get paid, but even the administration admits that they would get paid.
The House and Senate need to be defunded since they are not fulfilling their job to REPRESENT us, not RULE us; and they do not fulfill their oaths to support and defend the Constitution.
You wonder who we survived for 210 years without DHS.
But you see, DHS isn’t really about protecting our national security; it’s about teaching us to be good, submissive little sheep while the regime takes away our fundamental liberties.
Great idea. We should rely more on the FBI, CIA and the military intelligence to fill the security gap.

Every state and local government needs to pass laws forbidding local law enforcement from aiding the federal fascist bureaucrats. The fascist machine will quickly grind to a halt.
