I heard it said once that Kerry actually told the Jews that if they totally abandoned the Temple Mount forever, the US would "build" them a Temple somewhere else.

Who would he make such an offer to? The current secular State of Israel would laugh at someone making such an offer (or regard them as a serious danger), as would any Jewish religious organizations who take the Temple seriously.
