Worse than Obamacare.

Why shouldn’t ISP’s charge more for companies that use more bandwith? Why should every bit be treated the same? Somebody has to pay and it should be Netflix customers like Star Traveler not the rest of us that don’t use Netflix.

It’s amazing, they put the thumb of government on the internet for their entertainment.

That’s the thing, Netflix does pay for increased usage. And, I also pay for increased usage. That’s already happening.

The different levels of service where people pay for the level of service they want is there already and that will remain there. No one has any problem paying for usage. That’s never been the problem.

The problem is “throttling” where a company slows down data, even though you’ve already paid for it. And the problem is “fast lanes” ... where the telcoms say that even if you have already paid for the speedy service, they now give you that already-paid-for speedy service — IF — you pay an “extra charge” ... LOL ...

And then, the telcoms ALSO decide what services you can get on the Internet, according to “who has paid them” to get their data to the telcom customers.

It would be like Comcast telling Free Republic that they’ll make sure that the FR website gets to their customers — IF — Free Republic pays Comcast the EXTRA CHARGE. If not, they can’t guarantee that their customers will be able to get Free Republic at all. THIS would be made ILLEGAL by the FCC.
