With these telecoms being monopolies, they have specific ones for specific areas. If you were talking about cel service, and Internet data for your phone, then you’ve got a few choices. If you’re talking about broadband for your home, there is no competition. They’ve divided up areas and they do not overlap with each other. Since they are monopolies and don’t overlap areas, the telecoms (for Internet service) have to be managed like your electrical company, your natural gas company and other such utilities.

So isn’t the answer to move away from monopoly at the local level? More ISP’s, more choices. Net Neutrality means the opposite.
