Ted Cruz spills secret of GOP amnesty sabotage
WND ^ | 03/01/2015 | Garth Kant

NATIONAL HARBOR, Maryland – U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz, R-Texas, strongly suggested the fix was in from the beginning by GOP leaders to sabotage the fight against Obama’s amnesty, saying, “The cake was baked from the start.”

The senator said that was evident to him immediately when GOP leaders chose a bill funding the Department of Homeland Security, or DHS, as the vehicle to try to stop the amnesty President Obama granted to five-million illegal immigrants by executive order in November.

Cruz made the observations while speaking to a small group of reporters across the street from the annual Conservative Political Action Conference, or CPAC, on Thursday.

WND kicked off the conversation by asking: Why won’t GOP leaders fight amnesty?

If the GOP leadership had really wanted to stop amnesty, Cruz explained, they would not have attached the provision defunding Obama’s amnesty to the DHS funding bill.

They would have attached it to a bill defunding the Environmental Protection Agency, “or some other non-essential agency.”

He described such agencies as “hostages the GOP could afford to hold.”

What do YOU think? Where do GOP leaders really stand on amnesty for illegals? Sound off in the WND Poll.

Cruz insisted GOP leaders knew all along that rank-and-file Republicans would never vote to defund the DHS during a time of increasing terror threats at home and abroad.

Instead, he said, they chose a strategy that was clearly designed to fail.

Cruz said he is optimistic in the long run but pessimistic in the short term about stemming the flow of illegal immigrants.

He is pessimistic because “GOP leadership joined with (Senate Minority Leader) Harry Reid, D-Nev., to pass amnesty.” Cruz was referring to the move this week by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., to offer a “clean” bill funding the DHS, which meant dropping the provision in the bill that would have

“They would have attached it to a bill defunding the Environmental Protection Agency, “or some other non-essential agency.””

I agree although for the chance to get rid of the EPA I would take the risk that the Federal courts will handle Obama’s lawless edict, and just not vote for any funding bill thus killing the EPA.

That said the Democrats would likely not vote for a funding bill that did not fully fund the EPA. Further still Republicans should have staggered the funding deadlines for all theses ridicules and Unconstitutional agency so we can let them collapse one by one.
But Idiot John and Mitch had to give away everything for the whole year thus robing them of any chance to make any difference.

If John did not bring this compete failure and collapse of the legislative branch of Government upon us by way of his own choices dispute countless loud warnings and Objections to the sheer stupidity of the move I would feel sorry for him suffering such a humiliating defeat. effectively crippling not only his policy objectives but his office too.

John and Mitch gave up everything, when they surrendered the purse in the lame duck session. This is all they have left of that sole remaining and defining power of the legislative branch of government. They give even that up here and they will have nothing of value just a rubber stamp debating club, only able to offer what the enemy already wants.

“The entire country is being played as fools...”

I honestly think John and perhaps even Mitch are being played the fool by some seriously corrupt “RINO” advisers/lobbies telling them their insane strategy of surrender will get them anything but ridicule and failure not only for themselves but their entire branch of Government which they have murdered with their ‘brilliant’ choice to fully fund the government for the entire year.

The power of Congress is the power of the purse, if your not willing to uses that power you should not be in congress period. As you cerantly won’t accomplish anything of your own making only do the bidden of thy enemies.

“Does Congress even bother debating anymore?”

Im not sure you can call their on going speech making a ‘debate’ given how few if any of them are open enough in their mind as to change their vote.

I think for much if not most of Congress today, just like their Corrupt Federal Employees in black robes tend to have decided their vote based upon unrelated interest long before a word has ever been uttered. Thus it must be said there may be no more real debate in Congress than there is justice in the Federal ‘supreme court’.

You’re so right. Pretty much none of them thinks independently anymore. They all just line up and vote how they’re told.

““Instead, he said, they chose a strategy that was clearly designed to fail.”

Wow! A politician that is willing to speak the truth! He’s got my vote.”

Im not entirely sure that is the truth. mostly because I think John and Mitch are compete and utter fools being manipulated by high powered Washington Lobbiest who are themselves largely in the pockets of interest that generally favor big government spending.

I think it is possible John at least may have actually believed this plan was viable having been convinced of that by people he thinks are ‘friends’ Not so sure about Mitch who i think is more likely entirely in the camp of sumbags, raised to think the rest of us are idiots no matter how much their own plans lead to failure.

Oh No!!! That the best you can do? /s

BTW what is the problem with asking what Cruz, Walker, or others will really do vis-a-vis illegal aliens. I have not seen any legislation by Cruz and media reports he mostly sits silent at Senate meetings when the topic comes up. If he or others want my vote, I want to see something concrete as we already see too much talk and no action.

The Americans and Europeans ought to have an election to determine who is the most stupid. Would it be a tie?

Sounds about right but like others have said; why didn’t he bring this up at CPAC last week?

The only answer I can think of is he wanted to give Boehner and McConnell the respect of doing it their way first.

Is there a list of Senators on our side besides Cruz, Walker and Sessions?

We need a link to one that we add and delete from as needed.

....”It still baffles me as to why “our leaders” are so hell bent to legalize so many illegal aliens”.....

Canada, USA and MExico as one trading block..and peoples....it’s the “transformation” not only of the US but the entire world into blocks...and putting them on “equal” footing.

SAme with all the ‘Color” revolutions...and the battle now against Putin and any other nation unwilling to go along with the plan.

Best to look at things from the world plan then you uderstand what’s happening here and why.
