The British couple is hoping to launch a protest movement in the aftermath of a recent tax scandal in the UK, during which it was alleged staff at the Swiss arm of the bank HSBC helped clients avoid hefty bills in Britain.
Thompson and Wise hope a mass tax boycott will convince bosses at Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC), the government department responsible for collecting the money, to penalise wealthy citizens and companies who avoid paying their fair share.
Wise tells London's Evening Standard newspaper, "I want to stop paying tax, until everyone pays tax... I have actively loved paying tax, because I am a profound f**king socialist and I believe we are all in it together. But I am disgusted with HMRC. I am disgusted with HSBC. And I'm not paying a penny more until those evil b**stards go to prison.

Count Sharpton in?
So how’s that ‘’f****** socialism’’ working out for you Emma?
Oh, come on, Emma. We all know your cash is in the Cayman Islands.
And to think she was ‘Miss Money-Sterling’ on the greatest TV show ever, ‘The Young Ones’.
It's too bad we don't have the same attitude here in America when it comes to the billion dollars Berkshire-Hathaway owes or the millions Al Sharpton owes. I'm sure there are others. Many others.
The problem is, she probably helped get a lot of those skid-greasing politicians elected to office.
The greatest? I'm not so sure. One of the best surely.Fawlty Towers is the greatest....IMHO.
Count Sharpton in?
e.g. I’ll pay taxes when Sharpton either pays his or is prosecuted. The law is to apply to everyone equally, regardless of race, color, creed, sex, politics or home planet.
1000%....that was my first instinct reading the post...
I’m sure there are others. Many others.....IRS employees, Treasury employees, etc., etc.

What is a ‘profound’ socialist? Is that like a socialist brain buried ‘deep’ in the ground?
The animosity and hostility over people “paying their fair share” via ‘income taxation’ will never end and will always give deceitful socialists a soapbox to stand on.
The best solution is to abolish, scrap and repeal all income taxes and replace them with a retail consumption tax with provisions for no taxation on essentials of living. Such a solution is embodied in HR 25 and has ten times more support from members of Congress than any other tax reform:
https://www.congress.gov/114/bills/hr25/BILLS-114hr25ih.pdf
Problem is that the IRS will wait and wait to prosecute Al, but watch how fast they would come after you for doing the same.
The real solution is to reduce the size and scope of government and not elect jerkfaces like Sharpton and Obola in the first place.
A tall order either way.
HR 25 leads to reducing the size of federal government by removing the smoke and mirrors that are everywhere in legislation of income tax issues, and hitting consumers everyday where they see it up close even though prices stabilize to their current levels. A gallon of gas, a gallon of milk will still cost about the same or lower but the federal taxes paid will be on every receipt.
People in positions of power cannot escape a retail consumption tax unless it is never spent or invested. If it is invested, they may personally avoid the consumption tax but the investment products eventually reach the retail consumer market in myriad forms and there the retail consumption tax is levied.
There’s no way around it. All production and supply chains reach an endpoint at the retail consumption level. A retail consumption tax captures everything.
And for those few who wish to evade a retail consumption tax, they have to find, unlike the income tax, a willing party in the tax evading transaction and how do they know that a willing party is not an undercover federal agent performing a sting? Unlike the income tax where it takes ***one*** person with two sets of books to evade income tax, under a retail consumption tax it takes ***two***.
Knowing that more than 70% of all retail transactions are performed by about 3000 corporate retail chains that have computerized records of all transactions, the enforcement of a retail consumption tax is orders of magnitude more manageable and effective that a smoke and mirrors one-party income tax.
It’s like a limousine liberal. They like to spout their solidarity with the masses, but don’t look for them to forego their multi-million dollar homes, cars, jets, and mansions. No oppressed masses better knock on their doors either.
Problem is that the IRS will wait and wait to prosecute Al, but watch how fast they would come after you for doing the same.
The hypocrisy of prosecuting you or me while letting him skate is just too overt to be legal.
You’re just a middle class, socialist brat
From a suburban family and you never really had to work
And now you tell me that we’ve got to get back
To the struggling masses, whoever they are
