Huh? Whats that mean?
I had a Battery Commander who was a great staff officer, but terrible with troops. During a tac eval, he encoded coordinates wrong for one of our platoons. We almost flunked over that. I was XO, and I ripped into the platoon leader for not questioning the mission.
The last night of the tac eval, the BC basically checked out. I was angry at the lack of leadership from all platoon leaders, and I laid out step by step what each and every squad would do the next day...I had guided 3 platoons in my 18 months as a platoon leader, I knew the job of every squad member.
Little did I know that the chief evaluator was outside our CP, and heard everything I said. I bumped into him a few moments later, and I thought "oh crap." Instead, he gave me a big smile and said "that was beautiful, LT." We will passed, barely.
Huh? Whats that mean?
Rear Echelon Mother F*****. The guys in the rear with the gear. When I was at Bagram Air Base, there were about 15,000 Army types. Only a few hundred ever went outside the wire.
Sorry about that
